I have an SL2 which had a Circuit City replacement plan  Well after CC went out of business I started having problems. The radio wouldn't get reception docked except in my home dock. I talked to CSRs and they were gonna change it out for me, but said I had to go through tech support, but it was just a formality. Well the tech guy was a complete jack@ss, and wouldn't ok the swap. Then I couldn't get any reception with the internal antenna even in a wide open field. Well the other day I went to take it out of the dockand the battery cover was messed up. When I took it off it popped out. The battery swelled up, and now I can't get the cover back on. I already ate an sl100, and bought a warranty to make sure it didn't happen again. Am I screwed or what?

Your issues may be tied to the battery. For $30 TSS can sell you a new battery. Do a device recovery after and you hopefully will be good to go.

I would agree with this assessment. Doing a device recovery and a battery replacement should solve your problems. The swelling of the battery is very typical for rechargeable batteries. It happens over time from excessive charging and recharging. I've seen it a bunch before in cell phones and we have seen it a lot in stiletto batteries, both SL2 and Sl10/100. We do have replacements available for your SL2. Here is the link: Stiletto 2 Replacement Battery

I'm sorry that CC replacement people are giving you a hard time. That really stinks!

Thanks for the help guys. It's not CC thats being a pita, it's Sirius tech support. I thought about buying a battery from you guys. I'm just not sure I wanna spend more money on a radio that doesn't work. I don't think a device recovery will fix reception problems will it? I'm just frustrated. I've spent tons of money on Stilettos and accessories, and I always have problems. I had high hopes for the xmp3. It just doesn't handle recordings the way I need it to. I don't understand why Sirius refuses to take care of those of us who spent so much for equipment.

I completely sympathize with not wanting to spend anymore money on a product you have spent so much on already. Give us a call and ask for me. I'm sure there's something I can work out for you. 773-772-4340

Surprisingly a device recovery will fix a bunch of issues. Software updates can be done via WIFI or through My Sirius Studio, but can't be done via satellite. However channel updates can be done via satellite but not via WIFI. There are times when a SL2 user may have not gotten one or the other and the unit will not work properly. A device recover will solve these issues and give the SL2 all the update software and channel updates. I have recovered several myself that either had recording issues or reception issues and they work properly after that.

Now that I have playing with stiletto's extensively for a couple of months now, the only issues I haven't been able to solve are hardware problems. By that I meant dropped in a toilet or battery issues, etc.
