It was brought to my attention that while Sirius XM decided to scrap their disco station, that XM is saying that the Groove is sort of a replacement and that they are building up their disco and funk catalog....that is interesting since our R&B stations, which are fine, are DAMN lean on the upbeat funky stuff.

So Sirius bought XM YET Sirius gets less channels? Explain that one to me, please. Very disappointing....as long as we have 20 rock stations and 6 country stations. Thanks for only appealing to frat boys Sirius, while XM is keeping it sort of real!

I've never noticed the difference in channels. I think Sirius might have less because of the three TV channels that they broadcast for their backseat TV service. They're only cartoon channels, but still, they must take up a fair bit of bandwidth.

Well Sirius also has 2 more Canadian Music channel than XM that take up bandwidth, so that is more than likely where the gap is coming from. Though XM has all the clear channel stations too that Sirius doesn't have, which would probably take up as much bandwidth as the back seat video on Sirius. Those CC channels are actually some pretty decent though they do have an occasional ad.

The Groove actually is a good channel. I never listened to it before as The Strobe and Chrome were my old school dance channels. But since they did not make the cut, the Groove seems to be the next best replacement.

That's great if you have XM but considering even if I wanted XM, it would cost $12.99 instead of being allowed a second XM only radio for $6.99.....Yep, good job Sirius!

I swear I think you complain just for the sake of complainging anymore. 2 different services, 2 billing departments, 2 activation systems. It isn't a matter of being allowed, they simply can't do it at this point in the merger process. Maybe down the road! There are limitations!

And I would swear that despite your Slacker avatar, I think you work for Sirius XM. It's great how they combine things when it is convenient for them but let's not try to pass on the savings to fans in any way shape or form. They won't do shit down the road to the benefit of customers....it's all about the bare minimum in every area!

Honestly, does it make sense Sirius bought XM yet Sirius has given up it's exclusives to XM and yet not vice versa? Does that make sense? Never mind. Just send me another canned email about "Unfortunately, there had to be changes...."

Well it is a good thing you aren't getting paid for thinking, cause you'd be wrong. I am just an end user just like you that isn't hung up on a single channel and nit picking every little thing that Sirius XM is doing.

I won't waste my effort telling the changes were necessary unless you aren't paying attention and don't read the fiancials of these companies you should know this. Being on this for you should certainly know this. But the real deal is you don't care about any of that, you lost your favorite channel and so to hell with reality. I am pissed off and I am going to just bitch and whine about every little thing that I see and when others post and its negative I am going to jump on that bandwagon too.

Also if this company is ever going to save itself, they are in no position to pass along savings or cut cost to subscribers. This is about them saving enough money to pay off debt and stay in business. You've never owned a business have you?

No, I'm well aware that they bleeding money and chose to cut certaint programming that isn't white enough. Yes? Yes!

If you've been paying attention, people ARE canceling and while I'm not going to make a claim that it is going to destroy or even hurt Sirius, I wouldn't doubt that someone like Mel could easily benefit by downplaying it and not causing a panic.

They can't afford to cut for coasts for subscribers...funny thing is, while they won't allow people to subscribe to Sirius and XM and save money, what they didn't take into account is that they were already WERE dual subscribers (Mel is so far up is own ass he probably didn't even realize they existed) so the cost cutting that was supposed to help them so much not only caused pissed off fans to just up and cancel because those awful fringe channels playing that black music mean nothing but those oh so great casual fans that just don't know the difference in music or anything else...they either canceled a Sirius or an XM or a few of each since they are are all playing the same music (although, not really!).

If you like Sirius XM so much, than why do you want complainers to cancel? Who are you, Mel? Why not allow me to keep bitching until my subscription runs out if they don't make changes by then (and if they do, something tells me it will only be to replace Soultown with the Charlie Daniels Program and Heart and Soul with Barry Manilow). Why does it upset you that I have a point of view and am not a happy Sirius XM drone! I don't complain about everything and honestly have tried to give some of the new "replacements' a chance....it's not my fault they suck!

No, you don't get it Vin that is clear to see! You don't get it at all!

Now you aren't going to make any claims that is because reality is starting to set in. There has no doubt been some cancellations, but it is my belief based on many factors not just what Mel is saying the the cancellations aren't nearly what folks such as yourself seem to think. Pure speculation on both our parts until those numbers come out. OH but that is right, those numbers will be a big fat lie, I mean there is no way they would post the correct data. LOL

If you like Sirius XM so much, than why do you want complainers to cancel? Who are you, Mel?

I do like Sirius XM a great deal and I never said I wanted anyone to cancel. Another clarification just for you Vin, I said for those that are so unhappy that see nothing good with the channel changes and merger, then that is an option for them and if I were so unhappy I would without question cancel. Complaining here will net you NOTHING! NOTHING! But as I also said, you can complain all you want, you have and you continue to do so even now!

Your complaints are all over the map Vin, like I said you never met a negative thread or post you didn't like. Your history now speaks for itself! Next you'll be saying Mel is a terrorist! LOL

Mel is not a terrorist, just a bad CEO. Now Scott, he is a content terrorist.

I've never met a negative thread I didn't like but however you mostly posts only to talk up Sirius stock and/or Mel (you might not be working for Sirius, but the posts speak volumes) and want to dissuade complaints (cause that will fuck up everything).

I do often post in "negative threads". The reason is to get attention for my petition. would even concede is a bit of a failure because of lack of number of signatures, however it represents a number of angry ready to cancel listeners with multiple subscriptions. But I guess just like Mel and others, would say, there money is no good to him.

As for numbers, here is something to think about. What do most people say happens when they try to cancel. Might be a myth, might not. What happens? They are offered X amount of months free (usually 3)! So while they'll count as subscribers...they ain't paying, or like in my case they are paying very little. It happened to me before when I cancelled my Audiovox which only works in doors now. The guy actually lied (shocker, shocker) and said I would get three months 3 but then charged me $6.95 for three months (which was likely the offer all along however he was either a liar or just incompetent). Thanks Mel, for being so desperate to keep those numbers up!

Sirius has more Canadian music channels than XM. Since the Canadian service is not merging, they are stuck with it. Therefore since the total music channels is 69 / service 2 of the common ones (The Village and The Groove) are not available on Sirius.

I don't think he is a bad CEO at all and we recently had a poll and apparently once again you are in the minority. However, in all fairness I don't think all their decisions have been good ones, not even close! But not all is bad either!

I've never met a negative thread I didn't like but however you mostly posts only to talk up Sirius stock and/or Mel (you might not be working for Sirius, but the posts speak volumes) and want to dissuade complaints (cause that will fuck up everything).

You've never seen a single solitary post of mine pushing Sirius stock, so now you are just making shit up. I do indeed think Mel has done a good job, but then I am not obsessed like you are and can see things from both sides. My post do indeed speak for themselves over the last almost 8 years on SBS and my time here on this forum. I am very hard on Sirius Management and always have been. But I'll admit I am not obsessed and don't find it necessary to post negative stuff or jump into every negative thread because I am pissed off. But you.. well you're right your post speaks volumes!

If you are going to use my history on me Vin, you won't win this argument and it won't even be close. But it was a nice try LOL

Well 157 sigs speaks for itself, I don't even need to say anything more! OH wait your up to a 159, you really got it going on now! hehehe I should probably get credit for those 2. ;) Actually Vinny I applaud your efforts truly I do, just over the years we've not found these things to be successful at all.

Anyway I think you and I have beat this horse to death and its time to let this rest because no one is really interested in seeing you and I go back and forth and we've probably gone on too long now!

The numbers speak for themselves, yet you and your cronies can't stop talking about them...I didn't know you were a moderator. Now it make sense! Heaven forbid I question the almighty.

BTW, I would say that you kiss Mel's ass but....

I am far from Almighty; there was only one Almighty and his name was Jesus Christ! I thank you for the compliment though! But we are done here Vin! This has become totally pointless now and your post are digressing quickly to insults and name calling.
