I currently own the Sirius SLBB1 Boombox. My Stiletto 100 finally failed and I plan to upgrade to the Stiletto 2. Has anyone had any luck "customizing" the SLBB1 to work with the Stiletto 2? It appears that the two metal tracks would need to be removed, as well as some other adjustments to create some stability for the new radio while in the boom box. I would hate to buy a new boom box if I didn't need to. The one I have works perfectly! Any help would be appreciated!

I use a Stiletto executive system (SLEX1) with my S2 regularly - and it works perfectly. But the guide bars on the EX1 were plastic, so they took only a couple of seconds to remove.

I'm sure you could grind off the metal bars on the boom box. I would use a dremel to do this. But I would be careful to keep metal chips out of the electrical connector the S2 fits on. Either tape the connector up good or possibly do the grinding with the boom box held upside down so the chips fall away from the connector.

No other modifications to provide stability for the S2 will be needed.

I use the SL100 boombox with my SL2 everyday. I cut out the metal guides with a pair of wire cutters and that was all it took. I didn't add anything for stability because it really doesn't need it.

Go ahead and cut the metal guides and you'll be fine.

Using Stiletto 2 with SLEX 1

I found a Stiletto 2 on CL that I picked up pretty cheap. I have an SLEX 1. Those little plastic pieces that prevent the Stiletto 2 from fitting in there--suggestions on how to remove these without damaging the unit?

Just slice the plastic guides off with a sharp knife or razor blade. Simple - it only takes a couple seconds to remove them.
