I can't believe none of you peeps are going to review my station! :wtf:

Thanks for choosing it, Jleimer! I love the station of course, because I created it. But I also like it because it covers such an important few years in music history. The music made by the Beatles and those from Britain that immediately followed them completely transformed American culture and society.

The weakness of the station, is that it is limited to 30 or so artists. The reason for that is if I was to allow artist discovery, it would start playing The Beach Boys and other artists, which defeats the purpose of an all-British invasion station. The strength of the station is that it truly does a good job sticking to its original intent. By setting it to play 'classics', you get to hear early Stones, without hearing 'Start Me Up' or something that came much later.

I won't rate it because I made it, but I'd give it 5 stars. ;)

Actually I've been so busy this week I've not had time to listen, but I will get to it this weekend for sure.

Great artist listing. I'd like to keep this one in my favorites folder. If I'd modify, add Cilla Black, maybe Sandie Shaw and since I never cared for them, drop the Rolling Stones

Good job, Aaron. I have a Slacker account, but I've never created my own channel. Did you pick the songs, or just the artists? Some really good songs, although the Peter and Gordon song "I don't want to see you again" screwed me up. They sing in the right ear...

Good choice on the Dusty Springfield and Petula Clark. I can't really think of any other women that were part of the British Invasion. I love Dusty. She can sign her but off...:)

5 out of 5 Stars...:D

Finally was able to listen to this channel for a few hours. I really do like it and I never really found myself a big fan of British Music. I have certainly saved it to my custom stations to check out now and again.

Station creating for me sort of comes in 3 flavors. One where you just add a bunch of artist and hope it plays the songs you want, two where you actually go through request the artist and then select specific songs and 3 where you do a combination of both. The first option gives you a much larger library, but can also add a lot of junk you might not want. The 2nd option maybe too limiting unless you have a lot of artist with a lot of songs, you can also turn on artist discovery to add to the variety. The latter of course sort of gives you the best of both worlds.

Anyway... I am not sure which route you took on this one as I didn't look at your Fine Tuning settings or anything. I like the user created stations where it turns you on to music you don't normally listen too. I am more apt to listen to those when created by users than those professionally created.

Good Job!

Thanks!

In the creation of this one, I strictly picked artists, and set it to 'classics'.
If you can think of any British hitmaker from '64 to '66 that I may have missed, let me know. :)

Fine Tuning left on defaults

I really like this station, which is surprising. I'm usually not into these "jumble" stations that pick a group of years/something in common about the artists and just put everything that fits under this umbrella in it. Sure, there's a few "WTF BAN" moments but overall I'm enjoying myself. This one might actually stay on the Portable!
