Slacker Sound Quality

How is the sound quality on Slacker's portable device? Any specifics as to the format and bitrate at which the music is encoded?

One thing that drives me crazy about satellite radio (Sirius in my case) is the sound quality on the music channels. It's almost unlistenable.

As someone who had XM from the beginning, my G1 sounds as good as XM did when they first went on the air and only had 100 channels and no weather data or other silly stuff wasting bandwidth. Just like I said then, my G1 is 'almost CD quality' but most people won't notice. Nothing like the compressed, processed, homogenized crap Mel's cramming on the satellites these days.
