Buy.com has the Slacker 4GB Portable MP3 Player w/ Built-In Wifi Radio for a low $59.99 Free Shipping. Tax in CA, MA, NY, TN.

Pay using PayPal to get an automatic $10 off, bringing the price down to $49.99 Free Shipping.

The Slacker G1 features a 4" color display, 4GB built-in storage, MP3/WMA/AAC compatibility, WiFi sync, and access to over 100 popular genre stations or unlimited custom stations for FREE (can hold 25 stations at a time)

I got one because of the low price, and it works without a subscription.

Wow now that is a heck of a great price!

I recommend it myself and I've had one for a long time now.

link is for G1 not G2

Yeah, I guess I should have actually clicked on the link. I will edit the OP so that it isn't misleading!

I'll pass and suggest other pass on the G1 those things have never been stable.

Sorry about the wrong post in the wrong forum, I am just getting into Slacker with this price. I just copied and pasted from techbargains, should have checked it. I ordered one and will probably let the Sirius in my pick up run out and not renew if this thing is as good as all claim. I will keep Sirius in the house and XM in the wife's vehicle, but my drive to work has been 15 minutes and with the new pricing I don't see keeping Sirius.

I'm doing the same thing.

Just cancelled sirius, bought the same 50 dollar deal and plan to use it.

Sirius is a great idea but I can NOT deal with the dismal sound quality and expense. Selling my radios on ebay got me more than I paid for the device. Sold my zune because I just don't have time to deal with it and their channels suck.

I truly do understand the SQ thing, because Slacker does sound GREAT! Musically really Slacker in my opinion is the better service. But you do have to listen to some of the mainstream channels to keep up to date and they do tend to take awhile to play new music.

You'll enjoy it, I know I sure do, I just wish they would upate the darn Apple application so that I could use it without problems, because I listen to it as much that way as I do via the G2.

Buy.com is also offering the 8GB 40 station wi-fi for $69.99. I would have considered this one for $20 more, I could load more of my own stuff on it.

G1 version!

Buy with caution guys these things are still very buggy! They have fixed many of the issues, but still lot of complaints about ongoing problems.

I am shocked that retailers still have these things available for sale!

Update on my previous post, Slacker finally released version 1.2 iPhone app and all is well again! :)

If only that were true for everyone, all would be well in the world! LOL

Still lots of complaints with this device on the Slacker forums! Yet the G2 forum is almost like a ghost town!
