So what else needs to be done? (Other than the obvious financial stuff.)

-Get the channels on the same lineup throughout both Sirius and XM radios. I bet that the new MiRGE (and anything after) will make this a moot point.
-Fix Cinemagic and Pop2K on the Sirius side. (I wonder how the MiRGE will deal with this.)
-Anything else?

I did see a few quotation marks where apostrophes should have been, though.

Here's more differences I found:

I can listen to the BOXM channels (not PbP) online through the computer, but I can't listen online through the Stiletto. I think this was "changed" in this recent update, but i'm not sure.

Mad Dog Radio is channel 804 (SIR-4) online, but channel 123 or whatever on the satellite. Is there a reason why it's not 123 on both lineups?

And, let's face it - the current portables such as Stiletto, XMP3, and Inno will probably be yesterday's technology once a portable MiRGE comes out. I'd rather save up for one of those radios.

The MiRGE is a Dock and Play, not portable. I think you are aware of that, but I would be really surprised if a Portable Interoperable Radio would come out in the next few years. I don't know if there is enough of a demand for one. And by then there could be so many other changes that alter the playing field.

I'm so unbelievably annoyed by the inactivity thing.

I pay for premium internet, and now have constantly interruptions while listening to the Stern show while I work.

Way to cripple a device that was working just fine (except for Sirius' recent frequent issues with streaming)

Yeah, I know the MiRGE is dock and play. I'll take your word on the Portable Interoperable timeframe. I guess i'll live with the SL2.

Agreed. Timing out due to inactivity while it is docked in my boombox and I'm apying for premium is, quite frankly, bullshit.

Why does Sirius keep everything top-secret?? I mean, would it kill them to bounce a 10 second announcement between the EVER INCREASING COMMERCIALS on all the channels except the music channels... (for now).

They could simply say..
Attention
: Updates will occur on 03-09 via wi-fi for the S-50 and SL2's.
What did it take to read that statement... 2 or 3 seconds?? :idunno:

I really hate the way this company handle's EVERYTHING -no matter what the situation is. The music channel changes, the merger, the updates, etc. For three day's I could not get connected to my wi-fi... Maybe a mass email? Anything.. The state of satellite radio is pretty pathetic.. It seems they go out of their way to piss the customer off.

After the update, my SL2 seemed to have lost trace of my subscription, so I had to log online to re-send the activation code. Luckily, I haven't lost any recording doing the update.

I keep my expectations low with big corporations. This way I get good surprises when things improve. I love my SL2 and I was happy to finally get an update.

I am getting a second update. The one this morning was like twenty minutes and said updating Sirius after going from wi-fi back to satellite. Now, I am getting another one. I just went from wi-fi after listening for an hour or so then back to satellite again.. wtf??

They want me to activate it again?? what the hell.....?

Has anybody been able to figure out if they fixed anything besides the logos in this release?

And the above people getting multiple updates and subscription issues is exactly the reason I always do mine now via device recovery. I will try to do it tonight.

UPDATE:

I just left it on satellite for about a half hour and logged in online. After about thirty minutes my SL2 then said subscription updated. I think this update and wi-fi log-in problem are part of the additional online subscription fee of $3.99. Although, I have been paying for the 128kbs for almost a year so ...who knows, it is now working. Thanks for your info Allanon.

Well I just did the reset and erase. I hope I am go to go.

I now have ZAP - 2.0.5.69029r and OS - 2.0.3.54429.

I thought these were the new ones and now MSS says there is an update.

I don't think I want to proceed....

I just did mine. It worked.

However, I am still not sprung forward.

When it started up after every other device recovery, it went to the new subscriber screens. This time it didn't. Went straight to startup (following a brief "Updating Library"). I have the logos. Looks colourful.

I am wondering if the "Updating Library" is their 'fix' for the memory corruption? In the past when it has done this it has corrected further corruption. I wonder if they now do it on every restart?

No other issues so far.

I have the same ZAP and OS as you. I wouldn't trust MSS to know anything.

How does your device recovery fail?

I think they are also checking for subs with internet radio, and are checking for the 128kbs connections hence, the additional payment.. That's an awfully long update for just a few channel logo's and number updates... ?? No?

That is why I am not updating with MSS, I think I'll leave it on WiFi for a bit to see what happens.

When I clicked on the recovery file to load up, it did, then when I said proceed, maybe 1 second later, it said "Call Sirius." I'm not sure why. I think teh erase will work, I hope.

That is the same thing I got (call sirius)... I switched to sat mode and it took about thirty minutes to say subscription updated..

Odd. I had that happen once and it turned out to be a bad USB cable but the Call Sirius was well into the process. Sounds like the site or IP is blocked. Do you have a router/firewall with some strict settings?
