What’s Included in the Release?

Recently Sirius has made some changes to the broadcast systems and programming hannel lineups. The 2.0.4 release together with the 14.94 baseband firmware help ensure that the Stiletto 2 portable will continue to work properly.

This update also contains changes to the channel logo and channel announcement assets. This assures that channels which have been moved, or new channels added to our programming lineup, will display the correct information.

There are two ways to update Stiletto 2 with this software:

Option 1: Updating over WiFi:

Subscribers may update Stiletto 2 over an accessible WiFi network by following these
steps:

1. Turn on the Stiletto 2 and press the HOME button
2. Use the MEDIA DIAL to scroll to Internet Radio
3. Press the SELECT button to connect to Internet Radio
4. Tune to your favorite station and let it play one to two hours
5. The software will download automatically. Once received, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the update.

Option 2: Updating using My SIRIUS Studio:

Subscribers without WiFi access may update using the USB cable and My SIRIUS Studio software supplied with their radio. This will require a Windows PC with an active internet connection:

NOTE: If you have a microSDâ„¢ memory card installed, we recommend removing it before starting the update.

1. Launch My Sirius Studio on your computer. Be sure you are running version
1.5 or higher. You can download the latest version of My Sirius Studio here.
2. Connect Stiletto 2 to your computer using the USB cable supplied with your device or place the Stiletto in a USB connected Home Dock and press the ‘sync’ button.
3. When the picture of Stiletto has appeared in the My SIRIUS Studio software window, click on the gear icon next to the device or go to File Device Settings Check for Software Update.
4. Follow the instructions that appear in My SIRIUS Studio and on your Stiletto’s screen to complete the update.
5. After disconnecting Stiletto from your PC, switch off Stiletto by holding down the power switch. When Stiletto has completely shut down, restart it by using the power switch.
6. Once it has restarted, reconnect the Stiletto to your PC. Click on the gear icon in My SIRIUS Studio to check for additional updates. If one is available, follow the instructions that appear to download the additional updates. If there is no update available, skip to step 8 to verify the software version on your device.
7. After downloading any additional updates, power down your Stiletto by holding down the power switch. When it is completely shut down, restart Stiletto. When Stiletto has restarted, tune to Satellite Radio mode. Any additional updates will install automatically.
8. Following the update process, verify the software version on your device by using the Media Dial to go to Settings Device/ Device Info. Updated units will display the following versions in Device Info.

ZAP: 2 2.0.4.64538
OS: 2.0.3.54429
Booloader: varies 00.14.94

Is this a new update you are referring too or the same one above? Go to your setting and device info and see what your ZAP version is.

The reason I ask you mentioned the XM logos, but this update came before the channels merged, so there wouldn't have been XM logos included.

Now the XM logos were updated on the Wifi side about 2 weeks after the channel merger is that what you are referring too?

Thanks,

When I try to update via My Sirius Studio, I get this message:

"There are no software updates available for your device."

My versions are:

My Sirius Studio 1.6.0.58972

ZAP: 2.0.3.5606lr
OS: 2.0.3.54429
Baseband: 00.14.94
Boot loader: 48749

I don't see the XM icons unless I switch to WiFi. I am also experiencing lock-ups.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Liandrin, you might have to shutdown in order for the update to take effect. Try listening through WiFi for 20 mins then go to Settings -> Device -> Service Info and look at the Status line. It should say something like "Completed", which I figured out really means "Firmware Update Completed". If it just says "OK" then it hasn't found an update. Once it says "Completed", hold the power switch for 5 seconds to shutdown, then turn it back on. You should now be at 2.0.4.

I just bought an SL2 last week and had the same problem (MSS says it's up to date even though it was still at 2.0.3.) The Sirius Bulletin says it will notify when the firmware update is complete, but mine never did (and I left it playing through WiFi all afternoon while researching how to avoid memory problems). I had to check the status and shutdown on my own.

After the update it might not hurt to do a reset and erase in order to help avoid memory problems. If lock-up's and icon problems continue after that, a complete recovery might be helpful too.
