“Chris Carter’s British Invasion will be an exciting addition to our weekend lineup of music programming for the generation that lived it and for those who missed it,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM.* “There is no one better than Chris Carter to guide SiriusXM listeners nationwide through the hits and album tracks from one of the most vibrant, groundbreaking, and fun musical periods in rock.”

“As listeners already know, the British Invasion of 1964 to 1968 is the heart of the Underground Garage format here on SXM 21, but this will be our first show dedicated to the music and era that defines our identity,” said Steven Van Zandt, creator and producer of SiriusXM’s Little Steven’s Underground Garage channel and E Street band member.

Chris Carter’s British Invasion will air Sundays at 9:00 am ET, with an encore presentation Mondays at midnight, on Little Steven’s Underground Garage, via satellite on channel 21, and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com.

So does that this mean that Breakfast with the Beatles is canceled?

And if so, could that mean we are about to see the launch of the Beatles Channel?

Mikeargo found an article that said EMI was charging too much money for the broadcast rights for the Beatles music, so the show got canceled. Monsters......

Mike puts a lot of time into finding all of this news to share with us. We're all volunteers here at the DRC, but Mike's devotion to sharing the SXM programming has always impressed the hell out of me. :hatsoff: My hat is off.

Actually here's the real reason it was canceled:
Due to EMI contract regulations, SiriusXM is only permitted to play 60 Beatles songs per week.

Here's Chris Carter's official responce to his BWTB fans:
Hello to all who posted...Yeah, the show isn't on any longer on Sirius/Xm radio. This not the fault of either Little Steven's Underground Garage or Sirius/Xm Radio who we all love. Breakfast w/ the Beatles is still on FM radio on 95.5 KLOS FM in Los Angeles. My new show will start next Sunday morning 9am (ET) in the Underground Garage...please check it out!~

You can catch up with all info about that show here: http://www.digitalradiocentral.com/decades-pop-rock/14397-breakfast-beatles-6.html

And keep an eye on this thread for his new show that looks like it will be a worthy replacement! http://www.digitalradiocentral.com/decades-pop-rock/19950-chris-carter-s-british-invasion.html
