Phreaker, can you try the straight mms URL again, instead of the asx?

TheEndless

Sure... server set back to mms default, playlist with mms links used.

Do you have to run the program as Administrator every time you want to use it? I remember it nagging me a few times about that when I downloaded the first version.

I'm currently using HTTP with ASX and it works with Xbox 360.. Is there any reason I should switch to MMS/M3U?

I believe you only need to run as administrator if you need to modify the configuration, but I'm not positive. If it's working, then you're fine.

The additional options are there for clients that don't support all of them. As with the previous question, if it's working, then no need to change anything.

Well, according to the log, everything was a success as far as SiriusStreamer is concerned. Very odd. Two questions...
 1. Maybe too obvious, but does the extender have internet access?
 2. When you had this working with uSirius, do you recall ever having tried the mms streams? (I have one last idea about what might be going on...)

Here's the result of using a direct mms link on the phone. I had to change the siriusstreamer port to 10980 or the phone said "invalid parameter" and not even try to connect with the default "51710" port. Now the phone connects and says "unrecognized response". I x'ed out my computers exact IP address

koss, Have you tried the m3u version of the URLs (right-click on a channel and choose Copy->M3U URL)? When you try to access the stream from your Palm, are there any log messages displayed in SiriusStreamer?

As far as I'm aware, uSirius did not rebroadcast the stream, as that could have caused all kinds of potential bandwidth issue, particularly if you were accessing the streams externally.

Traffic Weather channels not streamed?

Try refreshing the channel lineup (via the Options menu). By default, only channels I receive are listed.

TheEndless

Thanks, but I did try this a few times.

Actually I just looked at the Sirius Player and those channels are not listed so perhaps they are not streamed. Thats a bummer.

Thanks!

Thanks, TheEndless, for releasing this application! I downloaded and installed Version 1.1.0 last night and was able to get it up and running in about 5 minutes. I had to play around with the MMS vs. HTTP and ASX vs. M3U settings to get it right. Once I had the right combination, everything worked perfectly.

For anyone in a similar boat as me, I'm using a standalone Internet radio device (Roku Soundbridge). I set SiriusStreamer to MMS and used the ASX URLs, and it worked great.

Thanks again, TheEndless!

1) yes, all connected on a wired network. My music library, photos, etc have no issues and all of that is hosted on the same box siriusstreamer is installed on. I can go to "online spotlight" and see web content. Thing is, an extender works as a remote desktop connection to the media center, so I can't imagine why it should be treated any differently. You see that your program essentially thinks it's sending the stream to the same computer, and it is. It seems like maybe it's my MCE box that isn't relaying it to the extender but I can't imagine why. That's why I was trying to dig through my event log for clues yesterday on the MCE box but the only clue I thought I had was actually a dead end. The extender is, however, far less "forgiving" than the PC itself, it has a very limited set of capabilities but of course it is for sure capable of playing these playlists.
2) No, I had a playlist set up like this:

Sirius 1 - SIRIUS Hits 1

<ref href="http://10.15.16.220:19080/streams/stream?bandwidth=high&num=1&r=1253734202" />

..and it worked the first time. I didn't have to try anything else.

I believe the "r=xxxxxxxxx" value had something to do with the result of a network speed test in uSirius, but I don't know for sure.

Working Orb with a BB

TheEndless,

I'm trying to utilize your program while running my blackberry storm. I used Orb with USirius in the past with no problem. However I'm running into some problems with your program, but don't feel it's on your end. For example let's use alt nation 21. In your early posting of this thread =m3u url's and when I tried them it worked! Then after a while when I had to shut it down and reload Orb I received a Orb message on my blackberry saying "Codec Error go to www.orb.com/codecs". Since the BB is trying to constantly trying to stream the message constantly comes and goes. I go to the website and can't find anything because if I'm reading the thread correctly this your program plays through .wma?

Why would it work one time and then receive this codecs message? I have also tried different url's with asx and have had the same problem? Below is my log and I hope it makes sense.

I am in the exact same boat. It works the first time and if for any reason it closes or you don't start streaming immediately the connection is lost.

I have not messed with the Default protocols or Default Format... Could these settings be my problem (HTTP - ASX)?

Could you guys re-run the test with Logging set to Diagnostic and post (or email me) the log?

Thanks,
TheEndless

your copying what url though? Or does it matter? I can get it to work on orb for like 10 minutes then by the time I get to work (10minutes) and restart orb on my phone says:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct."

To get it to work again I have to recopy the custom channel on orb.

Is the machine hosting SiriusStreamer exposed to the internet (or at least the port that SiriusStreamer is running on)? It sounds like when you launch the stream from home, you're doing so on your home network. It continues to stream on your way to work, because SiriusStreamer has already handed you off to Sirius. When you go to refresh it from work, your phone can no longer see SiriusStreamer, so it can't get the stream URL from it...

Does that make sense?

uSirius worked in this capacity! Orb is basically let me log on to my home computer that has orb running and SiriusStreamer. The URL is copied in to orb. I can get it to work, but if there is an interruption of any kind I have to recopy the URL from SiriusStreamer into orb.

I think SiriusStreamer is going to work... I am just not tech savvy in this discipline!

Oops.. forgot about Orb sitting in the middle. Are you able to stream other stuff via Orb from your workplace?

Thanks for creating this application - I plan on donating. It's great as I sorely missed uSirius! I am running Vista 64bit with Orb and am able to stream on my iPhone. I have the Streamer settings to MMS/M3U listening on 51710.

Thanks again
