Yet another example of why MLB continues to get its ass kicked by the NFL.
Instead of trying to get more fans, they are only interested in the $$$$$.
Did the NFL ask for more money to be put in XM? Did NASCAR?
These owners are killing a great game.
We have playoff games to 1:00 am because MLB owners don't care about the fans and here we go with yet another example.:bigahh:
I have a feeling that Sirius had some sort of stipulation in their contracts with the NFL and NASCAR stating that if there was a buy out or a merger, that these sports would be part of the others service. That's just my thought...:right:
As for the MLB, there are a lot of other ways to get baseball for "Free" and not have to pay for a satellite radio company to stream you every home game.
I remember when the St. Louis Cardinals were moving from KMOX to another, smaller, radio station in the St. Louis area. They sited that with the internet, there was no need to have a 50k radio station broadcasting their games anymore. The Cardinal fan in Des Moines, IA could now listen to the game online instead of trying to get the game via long distance AM.
The only person that is being left out of all of this is the person, like you and me, that wants to listen to another markets game while in the car, or truck in my case.
One of the reasons why I just turned on my old XM Radio was so next year, I could get MLB games while I'm driving down the road. For me or for a student, if they so choose. Plus the Sirius Radio I have is over three years old and it not able to get the Best of XM, but without the MLB, I wouldn't get it anyway...
