No baseball is probably the best spot you can listen to on the radio. NBA and NHL move very fast and you have to know your players if you are listening to those games. It's much easier to follow on tv. But as far as NFL and MLB are concerned, you can easily listen to those games on the radio and be able to follow it. It's a convenience to people if they can't watch on tv. There would be a ton of Best of XM purchases though once this deal gets sealed.

Agreed. I usually listen to the radio announcer over the TV announcer when I watch the local team. Doesn't work with the sats though ... to much of a delay. But a good announcer puts you in the game even when you are in your car or wherever.

I find that listening to baseball is especially enjoyable when driving, because driving can be a stressful activity, and baseball is laid back and relaxing. And of course being able to listen to your favorite team even if they are 1000 miles away is a big bonus of satrad.

I love hearing the other announcers too. I think the Jays announcers are pretty good in terms of home town bias but its good to hear the other teams home announcers assessment of the Jays when they are visiting. I also like hearing games that matter in September since unfortunatly they rarely involve the Jays.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that this would be added to the existing BOXM package. Since by April, the NBA and NHL seasons are winding down to the playoffs, leaving all that free space in the pbp channels.

It comes down to liscencing with MLB. If they can do it, Sirius will make it a part of the package. If not, it won't.

Use your DVR to put the TV image on an equal delay?

Yet another example of why MLB continues to get its ass kicked by the NFL.

Instead of trying to get more fans, they are only interested in the $$$$$.

Did the NFL ask for more money to be put in XM? Did NASCAR?

These owners are killing a great game.

We have playoff games to 1:00 am because MLB owners don't care about the fans and here we go with yet another example.:bigahh:

All of my friends that have Sirius have always said that all they wanted from the Sirius/XM merger was baseball on their Sirius radios, so yeah I'd say the addition of MLB will result in a lot of BOXM packages being purchased.

I said that as well, way back when the merger was first announced. But as the NHL, NBA and most college sports moved to XM in the interim, I was less interested in keeping my Sirius service. The combining of the music channels made it an easy move for me to cancel and add one more radio to my XM sub (with best of Sirius for the NFL).

And cancel BOS during the NFL off-season and save money...that's exactly what i've done with BOXM. Right now, I plan on cancelling BOXM at the end of the NHL season. I would get BOXM for MLB in the summer, but there's still a lot of time for plans to be announced.
