I recently purchased a new VW Routan, and if you know anything about a Routan it's basically the exact same vehicle as the Chrysler Town and Country. The T&C comes with Sirius Backseat TV factory installed. The Routan does not, even though the Routan has everything else the same including the dual rear seat entertainment system.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me understand what I would need to do in order to get Sirius Backseat TV. Is it simply a new, added chipset for the TV programming? If so, what's involved in installation? Is that something I could do myself, or is professional installation recommended? What about the estimated cost for a new chip?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I always suggest seeing a professional for these matters. You have all the equipment necessary to get the backseat TV except for the tuner itself. Here is a link to what you need: SIRIUS Backseat TV

Your rear entertainment system should have RCA inputs on them that will be used with the backseat TV. A professional install shop will be able to figure this out quickly.
