Should Sal and Richard Get Their Own Show?

I know some can't stand them, but I find myself laughing out loud at most of S&R's work (I know, I know: "Its fake!" Maybe, but its still funny). For some reason, Howard steps all over their productions, often cutting them short or throwing them out of the studio when they're killing. I'd really like to see what they could do if given some freedom. Can you imagine how many times Sal would stick his foot in his mouth if given a hour of mic time? I'd certainly rather listen to S&R than Bubba or Miserable Men.

It would be great, but only if they didn't get paid. Instead, their reward for a good show would be live airtime on the regular show. Howard, Artie, Fred etc., would critique their Friday show, then Howard would dole out the airtime accordingly. If they do good, they get to submit a phony phone call or lick each other's taints during primetime. If they bomb, Eric The Midget or Jeff The Drunk get a half hour each instead.

It would drive those two batshit crazy in two weeks. The Richard crying jags and the psycho Sal rants that would occur the first time they heard the midget and/or drunk taking their precious airtime would be sheer gold!

Hey Now

Great idea, but if you want to make it an even better idea maybe they could drag artie along with them.

I'm all for a little Friday Sal and Richard action. Maybe like a two-hour variety show.

Like Carol Burnett. I can see it now . . . Richard is dressed as a lovestruck Rhett Butler, gazing up at Sal coming down the stairs, who looks quite ravishing in a gown made from window curtains (and sporting a magician's beard). :fallinlove:

I think it would be a good idea for a Friday show..just as long as they are Sal and Richard and not Jack and Rod..I'm so sick of Jack n' Rod crap.

They could also feature the adventures of Captain Sack as he valiantly defends public access cable everywhere from the evil "Rusty".

now there's a great punishment threat!

Yeah, but they'll ruin it. Like Batman and Catwoman, they won't be able to hide the sexual tension in the air, and then everyone except High Pitch Mike will quickly turn the dial.

Yes, he should be giving lots of people their own shows. I'm interested to see if Howard will ever try to establish a legacy for the show (or at least his channels) to continue after he retires.

There'd be no hiding; every episode would end with an ass-sniffing or ball-licking. Captain Sack would vanquish Rusty by delivering chocolate-sauce "Raccoon Eyes". "Ethel Mertz" and "Smokey Martling" would get in on the action as well.

I do think these guys are really talented in their own juvenile, purile way. In fact, its the "innocence" (i.e., comedic sense of a 13-year-old) of their comedy that makes it so endearing and funny. When Howard does call it quits, I hope these guys end up doing something together. I think they represent the best chance of a true spin-off from the show. I can't wait for their stand-up act to get down to my neck of the woods.

It would be great if they got their own show if it got them off the Howard Stern Show. I was reminded of their unfunniness when Howard played Mozzarella Balls this morning. That was their creation, right?

I thought they mentioned that Fred had something to do with that.
I only half heard the conversation though.

Yes, that was Fred's creation. I find it hilarious when someone critiques people for parody songs that they don't even create. Pretty much makes their points moot, eh?

this is all retarded but why stop now, right?...the idea which will of course never happen would be to REPLACE any sick day(s) with however many FRIDAY's it would take to even out...no need to be punished if he'd already put in his 4 days for the week
