Where did you get this list? I just checked and 82 is still up and running. 107 has already been dead for a few days, so this is nothing new.

One of the DJs on The Beat 36 posted this:

Dear Friends,

Well it's personally a really sad day for me and a LOT of other DJ's who've put our hard work and love into 36 The Beat.

Tomorrow, the announcement will come forth that BPM will be replacing The Beat in the Sirius channel line up.

It's not something that ANY of us saw coming. Especially since it was Sirius that bought out XM. If anything, some of us were really hopeful about moving over to both networks. But it doesn't look like that will happen for the folks on Sirius.

As a resident DJ of "Adrenalin", "The Mix Fix on 36" and "Remix 66", I've been fortunate enough since May 2005 to be able to convey my love of music and the dance format to you every weekend. Nothing more makes my blood pump than the love of the international dance music format and the artists that I've been fortunate enough to work with.

The future is broad, open and ahead. It's been especially great working with Ranny DJ, Mike Bordes and countless others that have made The Beat and "Adrenalin" the single hottest dance station in satellite radio.

In the coming weeks, I'll be revamping Hosting for an agile web - WebFaction. djjcsimon. com to a new style and focus. Please follow myself and my fellow DJ's who embrace the dance music genre as we all move forward.

Thanks for all your love, support, words of encouragement and most importantly LISTENING every week.

All the best,

JC Simon

Getting rid of The Beat is going to make me very unhappy..

Ah, finally word from The beat DJ's...

However, I think a LOT of sirius dance fans may like this change, as for the most part, most people saw XM's Dance as far superior and preferred BPM on XM.

I hope your gf is right... We may get to keep Movin EZ on Sirius?

Well that would be great, but I'll have to do my own Moving EZ on Slacker, because based on the channel line up on XM, I am canceling my SIRIUS. Just not enough there now to warrant my keeping it.

The Blend is officially not "Starlight". Playing "Island Girl" by Elton John and now "What do I do with My Heart" by the Eagles (Yawn).

Looks like SuperShuffle just died. I was in the player, and picked it, and then the update hit, and it's gone.

It's not on ANY list I can find any more.

I was pissed when it moved online only, and now it's toast.

Grr.

At least it looks like my hope for SIR60/XM16 happened, and we get some of the XM16 programming on SIR60.

Tell her to put the strobe back on.

This is a case of different strokes for different folks, I had found the Starlight for the last several months to be one big Yawn!

My point is that song by th eagles was slower than anything that I think Starlight ever played and was putting me to sleep. There's also considerably larger qty of older songs on the Blend. It doesn't appear to be either Moving EZ or Starlight. It sounds like a "Blend" of decades channels so far to me.

I liked starlight played a heavy dose of top pop songs from the last few years plus some older ones thrown in for good measure. It was a nice alternative to The Pulse.

The Blend is probably a good channel, it just won't scratch my "Starlight" itch.

The Beatles Let It Be on Movin EZ - wonder if that means anything

Meant nothing. I went to sleep to Moving EZ last night after 1AM. Woke up with my SL2 on 184.

The death of Lucy was sad. Hutton did a goodbye message then played Closing Time,
a couple of songs I didn't recognize (but were appropriate), then Good Riddence (Times of our Lives) by Green Day, then Smells Like Teen Spirit by Tori Amous. That song got cut off 1/2 way through with silence. Then a grundge song came on 1/2 way through. The title of the channel was then Lithium. Ironically it was not the same Lithium played on Sirius. My guess is that when Sirius switched they picked up that new feed.

one of the last songs played on Boombox last night was kind of sad

The Ting Tings
Shut Up And Let Me Go

Boombox missed getting cut so many times that I guess Liquid Todd got tired of fighting it.
