Well, my old Samsung DVD player has bitten the dust. Went shopping yesterday and am serious about the Samsung in the title. I was about to pull the trigger on a $49 DVD player, but the BD-P3600 caught my eye with the NetFlix logo. This Blu-Ray player also has Pandora capability. We love our online NetFlix, but if this player had a Sirius XM chip in it I would have it at home already.

Anyone have any experience with this Samsung Blu-Ray?

If you're going to get Blu-Ray, get a standalone and forget the Playstation.

I would get the Samsung.

I kinda agree as I would rather have the NetFlix feature as I do not play PS online or not games. To my knowledge, NetFlix is not on the PS3, yet. BTW, Best Buy is now throwing a free Blu-Ray movie with the purchase of the player. Every little bit helps.

Netflix streams to PlayOn, and PlayOn streams to PS3. You can also get Hulu, CBS, YouTube, RedTube and all sorts of other video via PlayOn.

If you're serious about the Blu-Ray, get a standalone and NOT the PS3. The PS3 is a gaming system FIRST and a blu ray second.

I bought a much cheaper SAMSUNG Blu Ray player (bdp-1500) just before Christmas and I love it. If you've got HD, then you'd be silly to stay with DVD.

The only problem with BLU RAY is as follows:

1. You realize that regular DVD is horrible in comparison
2. You realize that you now need a surround sound system or, if you have surround sound, realize that you need to UPGRADE your surround sound system to accomodate HD sound.
