S50 Problem :C(

I have had the s50 for years. This weekend I was driving along and the radio turned off by itself. When I tried to turn it on I got the logo, the onscreen explosion that always happens and then it returns the the sirius logo and just sits there. I can hit the playlist button and play my playlists, but if I go to the live radio I just get the screen of the last played station. No listing or anything else. If I disconnect my antenna I do not even get the antenna not detected message. Is my radio finished?

Would resetting to factory settings help? What about the 3 finger salute?

Thanks!

Ken

By the way, this is my first post here. I did belong to the backstage for a long time.

I would dive right in and do the 3 finger salute. You could try to restore the settings first.

I believe that me_rubin has some instructions somewhere.

Thanks for the welcome and the reply MM!

I have the instructions, all 50 plus pages, for the 3 finger. :c) Only issue I have is that I have a lot of saved songs which will be lost. If the 3 finger will not work they will all be lost. At least I still have these to listen to with the radio in this condition. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and decide if I want to take the chance. Thing that makes it harder is that the love button does not work the same since the merger, so I don't think I will ever be able to get these songs back. :c(

Can you maybe hook it up to your computer prior to doing the 3 finger salute and play the songs you want to keep on your s50, and then record them manually with software like audacity? It is a hassle, but it is one way to keep these songs if they are something you don't want to lose at all, however, I understand the inconvenience of losing these songs for play on your s50.
