Robin can't find an assistant

Back on Tuesday's show, Howard brought it up that Robin recently fired yet another assistant. I think Gary said she's been through about eight assistants this year alone. Apparently, she can't find the "right" one. My God, could you imagine working with Robin, attending to her needs? Her diet alone would drive me up the wall. I think I'd need at least a 6-figure salary to even consider going near that magpie. As caustic as Artie's situation is, I think I'd rather work for him.

They rehashed this on the WUS and when they actually did the math, Robin has only gone through 2 assistants since Mr. X left, which was 2 years ago. So it wasn't really as bad as they made it out to be.

The better Robin story this week was the awkward silence after Langford asked why Florentine was plugging on every Sirius show except Howard's. Whoosh, the chill in the air was arctic.

What's worse is that she doesn't think she's high maintenance when she is. That's the worst case scenerio, IMO.

What's even worse is as wacky as she is, she was even more fucked up during the Quivers: A Life stage. Taking Maxwell House up the ol' shitpipe, wrapping yourself in hefty bags and sitting under a warming lamp Chicken McNugget style, or getting massages/spiritual advice from a modern day Rasputi . . . errrm . . . "Gypsy" is fucking batty, but it's nothing compared to how she was back then.

That woman can't even read her news stories in the proper order, how in the world will she ever be able to put her life in order?

Man, I wish I listened to the show back then! Love it when they pick Robin apart for her numerous eccentricities.

Question for anyone who can field it....has Robin ever blown up at Howard for picking at her too much? Maybe he hit a nerve one day? She always seems to keep her cool and responds with the typical "Oh here we go!". I'm sure she's never blown her lid like Artie, but I wonder if she's ever lost her temper with Howard?

She once went a significant amount of time not speaking directly to anyone on the show, like weeks. She's read the news and that was it. She also famously blew up a couple times when the busting hit a nerve, the one famous incident was when Howard admitted he didn't personally purchase her birthday present. That was a total meltdown.

There's a great E! Show where the camera followed her into the little news room they had back at WXRK, the place where she would clip headlines from the AP Wire Services. I can't remember what exactly transpired, but I remember Howard asking Jackie and Fred what was going on with Robin because she wasn't in her booth ready to do the news.

Robin walked out and was pulling some passive/aggressive action on the show by taking her time in gathering the news stories. Gange kept asking her questions about whether or not she was going to return to her work and she kept trying to ignore him.

There's a horn of plenty in relation to Robin meltdowns. They were grand manipulations of her fragile psyche and fucking hilarious.

Good stuff.

I believe that was when the Chicago story came up. Robin went to Chicago for a book signing. It was right around the time "Quivers: A Life" came out. She was late to the book signing after burning too much time in the hotel room. Howard went on a riff about how Robin shouldn't have been late for the only thing she was in Chicago for; it should have been the top priority. Robin left the studio and got cold and distant. However, I thought it was Stuttering John who was sent in to ask her questions? Maybe it was both him and Gange.

Yeah, it could have been John...I was just assuming it was Gange because I have a memory of having watched it, that much I know for sure, I definitely watched it, but it was so, so long ago.

That sounds right, it was probably her book signing thing.

I just watched it two, maybe three months ago. Do you know Mojo's Howard TV show? If not, the last segment is always a nostalgic E! show clip from the past. This passive-aggressive blowup was one of them. Great stuff! I always love to see a fight between Howard and Robin. :D

I have Dish Network, so I'll assume I don't have Mojo. I only know of Mojo as something that others on this board discuss from time to time.

Where's my ass coffee!?! Where's my vegan smoothie!?! Where are my race car keys!?! Where's my main sail!?! YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT, CAN YOU!?!

I wouldn't wish being Robin's assistant on my worse enemy.
