That's a shame. I really couldn't get into to it either though. I didn't like the constant scoring myself. It seemed like the winner was usually the team that had the ball last, unless one team really sucked. The field was too short as well.
I do feel there is a real need for minor league football. I actually like the XFL, but alas it didn't last. I don't think the UFL is going to last. There is all ready NFL games on Sunday, Monday, and sometimes Thursday. College on Saturday and Thursday, and sometimes on Tuesday. Where are football fans gonna find the time to add the UFL to the mix?
Just my opinion here. I think there is hope for a minor football league. First of all it has to have the same rules as pro and/or college football, or a mixture. It has to be spring/summer football. The field definitely has to be the same size. It should be played outdoors in the south and in a dome in the north. (will people go to a new football league in Minnesota outdoors in Febuary? Hell no.) Try to make use of existing football stadiums, either the local college stadium or pro stadium. Opening weekendend should be the weekend before the Super Bowl, play Saturday and Sunday that weekend and a Thursday night game. Take the Super Bowl weekend off and start again the Thursday after, play on Saturdays, Sundays, and Thursdays. 12 week season and 2 round playoff. Just my opinion.
