So what do you think will happen? Crew Chief change? 'cause if that happens they will have to really figure something out. Steve and Chad and Alan have all said they will never leave their teams and I don't see it happening myself. At most I could maybe see it have to be Alan but he has already said the #5 is his and he will not go anywhere else.

Sounds like its a done deal then. Because every other time this rumor came around he'd straight up deny it.
Somethings not right with that team this year and despite what people have said they've never performed too well together. Maybe this is the change Jr. needs? I didn't think bringing him over from DEI was a smart move anyways. Start fresh with the top performing team.
I'm not a fan but I feel for the guy, he's got SO much pressure on him.

I'm not real sure Calypso, they let their best "non-crew chief" get away in the off season in Darien Grubb. So i don't know what needs to happen I'm not really a Jr. fan but i also understand it benefits the sport the fans and everybody involved if Jr. is running near the front and for championships. I believe Rick Hendrick will have some sort of a plan, his cars never run near the back for long.

if anyone saw the sirius speedway poll last week that was posted on the sirius nascar website, a majority of the people that voted believe juney should be fired.

am i the only one that feels like tony jr isn't the problem and that juney's driving isn't as good as people think it is.

Absolutely agree, Jr. cant drive a loose race car. PERIOD. Look at Jeff Gordon last year (prime example) He had trouble adjusting to the "new" car which everybody say's is a "loose" car. Once Jeff adjusted his driving style towards the end of the year his performance improved and has carried right on into this year. Do you think it is a coincidence that Jr. has never run in Tony's Prelude To The Dream charity event. Coincidence?? I think not...

I don't think either are as good as some people make them out to be
Don't get me wrong Dale Jr is a good driver and will win some more races I just don't think he'll ever contend for a championship. What I think is besides the point though. I see a team struggling that is capable of doing much better. Something needs to be done. Rick is a smart guy. He probably already has a plan in place ready to go. I just hope it doesn't affect the other three teams that are running well.

I think he is having a bad year.. I have said this plenty of times before. Jeff Gordon had a bad year last year and everyone said Steve Latarte needed to be fired. Now this year they are on top of their game and leading pretty much since day one of the season.

Why fired Jr. because he isn't that great, not as good as Jimmie or Jeff or Tony or Kyle.. Give me a break if they fired all drivers that weren't that great we would have a 10 man race every week.

The difference is that Gordon was coming of a record breaking year in 07 30 top tens, 6(?) wins and came in a close second in the championship with Letarte. Dale Jr has won, what? one race in the last 3 years with Eury Jr?
Big difference.

I don't think Tony Jr's ability is the problem but I do think their relationship is....too much debate. Hendrick has other Grubb's in the organization. Or...Tony Sr??

I am saying people said Steve needed to be fire last year... Now Eury needs to be fire.... I am sorry but your answer has nothing to do with what I have said really... I didn't ask for a difference.

Fair enough I suppose, but if your going to compare the two situations I'd expect the differences to brought up as well.

That is great but still makes no sense to why people though Steve should have been fired.....
Because most people jump the gun. However,
I don't think I explained myself clearly on my original point. Sorry, its almost time to go home ;)
All I'm saying is that last year the 24 had a bad year and people wanted Steve fired. (I disageed BTW not that it matters)
This year the 88 isn't perfroming and people want Tony fired.
So now you have people defending Tony by saying "Well, they didn't fire Steve last year"
So my rebuttal is simply you have to look at their perfromances as a whole over the past few years and not just this year and last year.
When you look at these two things you realise you can't compare the situations at all. Totally different.

I get what you are saying in the long run....

I have been a Jeff Gordon fan since I got into Nascar. I have never been a Jr. fan... Would I like to see him do good? Yes of course I would like to see him succeed I have nothing against the guy at all.

I say give him a chance everyone is entitled to having a run of bad luck. Like I said before if they fired everyone that weren't good drivers like Jeff and Jimmie and them we would be having a 10 man race every week.. Ok maybe I should change that maybe it would be a 15 man race every week.. lol

Not a coicidence at all, his background isnt in dirt. Not that it would have to be, Im just saying why make yourself look like a monkey screwing a football? I would like to see him run at El Dora, but not without some practice first!:Smiley_wink:

If they make the move to remove Eury Jr., it'll be interesting to see who they pull from within the organization to replace him. Whatever they decide to to do, it can't make it much worse than it is today.
