So funny thing happened..I signed up for a free slacker premium trial a week ago. The trial is for a week. I forgot to cancel.

So, I'm stuck with Slacker Premium for a year. I have it on my blackberry and iPod Touch, is there any reason to get an actual Slacker player? I figured I might as well take advantage of the $45 I accidentally spent.

ROFL. I wouldn't spend money on the Slacker HW if I were you. I use the Slacker app, (when it works), on my iPhone.

Depends. I have the G2, which I love. Then the app came out for the iPhone, which I have. I use the G2 in the gym (I don't want to use the iPhone in the gym), and the iPhone in the car (iPHone dock, aux input). I will continue to use both. However, if I had the iPhone app first, I might be hesitant to get the G2. I'm glad that I have both. I'd go for it if I were you! It weighs NOTHING, so it's great when you are working out, jogging, etc.

I may eventually get a G2 to keep in the car and at home. I use the iPhone app pretty much everywhere else. I've got designs on a 120GB iPod to replace my busted 80GB first.

Yeah I definately think having the G2 is worth it. I also have an iPod Touch, which of course means you must have Wifi to use it. I am not a big fan of having music applications on my phone. I have a phone to make and receive phone calls, which I gets probably 2 dozens or more of each day. So trying to use a phone to stream music just wouldn't work for me. I love the iPod Touch Slacker application for some limited use. But I find more often than none I am using the G2 because I can take it with me anywhere. I also find that with the G2 repeats happen less often because you basically can listen to a complete station before it starts playing over again. On the web based devices I find repeats happen much more often.

The G2 also just keeps getting better and better. New release of firmware today adds auto off when power is removed and a sleep timer. GREAT!

G2

I have a G2 and the iPhone ap, as well as a Squeezebox that gets Slacker. I agree with DAB--you're going to want the G2--it is so small and lightweight. Its not a bad buy. If you look on eBay you can get a 4GB for about $160, so its not too bad.

a plus for me is I use the g2 when I'm on the phone

Agreed! It would be very annoying to have to stop listening while I am on the phone. I like my G2 because I can have it at a volume acceptable for me to listen while its quiet and also while I am on the phone handling business or talking with family members.

The nice thing about the G2 Player is the ability to LOAD all your stations up and listen anywhere, even if you can't get a cell or wifi signal.

On your Blackberry you can cache the stations so if there isn't any signal, it's ok! I've been using it for the past few days and I love it. Having used both a G2 and a Blackberry I like being able to listen on my blackberry on Bluetooth headphones. When a call comes in, the music pauses and I take the call.

It does slow up my phone a bit though. So trying to look up the train schedule take a little bit longer but at least I have music while I'm waiting.

So... My point is why don't you just get a nice and big microSD for your Blackberry?
