So I'm accepted with the Navy and am awaiting review with the Army... I took the Air Force AFOQT exam to make sure I'm covered. I qualified as a pilot. Damn this liberal education.

I'm over 30 so I might be too old for pilot. But, my scores were good enough for navigator as well. I'm just happy to have options. I'm hoping to hear from the army within the next few days. I'll decide on what branch to enter after that. Army biochemist is still my first choice.

I pick up my uniform on Thursday. I already ordered my actual name tags. I'll call them on Monday and see if they can get BMF done by thursday. "Badmotherfarker" I'm thinking might not go over well, especially when I have to ask for them by name while with the sergeant.

Not a chance. Marines is the one branch I didn't apply for. Those guys are crazy. I was with a Navy officer up in Chicago and we encountered a few marines.... those guys are scary when they salute you. Nothing like being nervous about someone calling you "sir".

Pretty much. That and when they suddenly drop everything in their arms and come to attention while screaming, "GOOD MORNING, SIR!!!". Scares the shit out of you when you're hung over and just trying to get some coffee. I was reaching for my gun the first time that happened.
