I need more confirmation, but it appears Sirius has changed their login code and now neither USIRIUS nor the Sirius Yahoo Widget work anymore!

This is a real pisser. I run Usirius all through my house and I use the widget for a script to record Howard Stern every day. This ruins everything.

Basically here's how today went:

I found Usirius in an "unable to log in" state. I opened my Sirius Widget, and it could not log in. So I went to the official sirius.com player, and was greeted with the "too many failed logins" lockout screen. I called sirius and they reset this for me. I was then able to log in and play a channel through sirius.com, but Usirius and the Widget continued to fail.

I really hope someone with some know-how can update these apps. Can anyone else also confirm this so I know for sure it isn't just me?

I'm thinking the down time you guys are talking about was them implementing this new code.

That would not surprise me. Sirius has always taken the approach against 3rd party development which in my opinion is 100% wrong.

I have an old Starplayr App on my Mac. It doesn't work. Then I had issues logging into my XM Online account. I'm now on hold with XM Customer Service. I will let you know in 3 hours when I'm off the phone with them what the deal is.

So how did you get the fast one?

The XM side has not changed yet. Still logs in. Though logging in through StarPlayrXM was slow.

Still looking into the Sirius side.

Any insight will help! Although I don't use a Mac, I appreciate that someone is jumping on it.

I know that Usirius was based largely on Tanner's Yahoo widget... so if the Widget gets fixed, maybe somebody can hack those changes into Usirius 1.0RC8. I say "hack" because of course the original author of Usirius stopped (or was forced to stop) working on it.

The only person who has the Source code to uSirius is a retired third party developer. Seriously doubt the unsupported iPhone app will be fixed.

I'm talking about the Usirius server for Windows... but yeah, it's hard to change anything without the source. For simple changes, programs can be hacked/patched, but this change probably won't be so simple.

I've logged into both my Online accounts on XM side and SIRIUS side and both work fine. My starplayr doesn't. Thanks for your help and presence here Goodtime. And the customer service experience with SIRIUS and XM wasn't bad thankfully.

You logged into Sirius with a 3rd party app? Or just the web? What we're getting at here is that they broke all the 3rd party apps that access the SIR streams.
Edit: I see you said starplayr is broken.

So far I found that the URLs have changed to that is used to access the Sirius Web Player, but it also looks like the post method definitions have changed. It's not unsolvable; just takes a little time seeing what has changed and its been nearly 3 years this area needed some attention. Usually Sirius rolls out a major channel change and that's it.

It appears to me that Sirius is re-organizing the web code and appears to be unintentional.
