I have a HP Media Center PC that I think that the graphics card is about to bite the dust. I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

Because it is a media center PC I have my Directv in my office hooked in to it. It has a TV tuner not sure if that matters.

Can I replace the graphics card, what would you recommend. I would like to get if from Office Depot / Office Max / Staples / or Best Buy if I can.

Yes, you can replace the graphics card. The two things to consider are case size and power supply. You only have 300w to work with, so you can't go nuts. Open it up and measure the length and height of the space available for a graphics card.

The GeForce 8500gt is pretty old, so it may be hard to find. Look for whatever Nvidia was making last year or the year before that fits your slot, works with a 300w power supply and has the features you want.
