Oh, that's cool too. Have any in mind?

I was thickening something similar or maybe the Seiko Presage with the moving mechanism on the back.

I also wanted to mention, I have seen and tried this watch on in person. The watch looks classy vintage. My only issue is the crystal is a bit thick and sort of looks like a magnifying glass. It supposed to be that way. Per the website it supposed to evoke stem of a cocktail glass and basically show off the color of the dial.

I recently came across this watch which comes out in June.

SSK049J1 | Seiko Watch Corporation

SSK049J1

They look a bit similar, but the extra numbers looks alright. I’ll wait to see this in person.

I even admire the old classic square case look. I can’t recall the brand and I'm not targeting Seiko exactly, I wouldn't mind owning something similar to this style. Basically I wouldn't mind owning a vintage look watch. I'm patiently waiting until I find the right one to come along.

Back when I was really into this stuff, I spent a lot of time picking out watches from Vostok Europe. They have a ton of styles, including tanks. At one time I got one off eBay I think, and it was too small, and the blue dial looked a little purple. So I returned it. But they had so many cool designs, and they're automatic and not expensive. Not sure if you can still get one, but here's some examples

Oh and I bought this one:

It's my first ever pre-order watch (I won't get it until May). It's my first ever pink dial. It's my first ever jubilee bracelet, and it's my first ever HAQ. So lots of firsts.

Also it's High Accuracy Quartz so it's +/- 10 seconds per year with a display caseback which I think is cool for a quartz. And it's the mocrobrand from the guy behind Just One More Watch. Some expat Scottish, now Aussie reviewer I've been watching for years.

I like the idea of adding a pink watch to my regular rotation. If I'm being real I dig how pink is gay for dudes but i don't care if ppl think that Abt me, I'm gonna go home and bang a hot teacher. Fuck you. I just think this dial is cool. Something about that is attractive to me. I'm explaining it like a caveman but you get my jist right?

My pre-order from February 2nd finally showed up. It wasn't late. It was supposed to ship at the end of May and it's from Australia so it came exactly when they said it would. Which while I trust this brand, it is still a micro brand from a YouTuber. You can never really trust newer microbrand, let alone ones run by YouTubers:

This thing is full of firsts for me. First watch I've ever bought from an Australian brand, first pink dial, first with a jubilee bracelet, first with a high accuracy quartz movement, first with an on the fly micro adjust and finally first quartz watch with a display case back.

The other pics obviously show the bracelet and the watch face but here's some of the other stuff:

I get how a display case back is kind of silly a quartz watch but I like it. At least it is nicer looking than most quartz movements. And I've talked a bunch about how I love testing accuracy and how the radio controlled Casios are so cool but they are kind of cheating cuz they get the radio signal from Colorado every night. Whereas this one is +/- 10 seconds a YEAR (as opposed to the vast majority of quartz watches that are +/- 15 seconds a month) without any sort of adjustments. I'm looking forward to testing that and seeing how on the money they actually are with that claim.

Also, I'm not sure if the brand actually claims this, but talking to Gemini the battery they use with the movement they use is supposed to last around 7 years. So if that's true that's also awesome.

And it more or less has everything else you would want in a micro brand. A signed and screw down crown,

100 m water resist, sapphire crystal with antireflective coating on the underside, a milled clasp, applied indices and good lume.

The only negative I see so far is that the second hand doesn't 100% hit all the ticks from around the 30 to the 45 or so. So that's not great for a watch that was reasonably priced for all the features but nowhere near cheap. The preorder price was $429 but since it came from Australia it wound up being $533 with $39 for shipping and $65 in duties (hehehe dootie).

Also I like how the date window is color matched to the dial. I would prefer to not have a date window at all, but if I have to have one I want it to be framed and color matched.

So I'm happy with it overall. Of course I'm still in the honeymoon. It's day two of owning it in person. I guess we will see how often I actually wind up wearing it long term.

And here's a lume shot to end the post:

So you bought a new watch off an Aussie. I bet he said it’s so tough, even if a croc nicks your arm, it’ll still be on time, mate.

I'm not much into pink, actually it looks great looking. Nice pick Koop.

I ordered a new watch box from Etsy about a week ago. It should look like this, but it has 10 slots and includes a drawer for my sunglasses and anything else I want to store.

I’ve also been looking at another watch possibly a better leather band to replace one of other older leather band ones. As well I’m thinking about getting one with a stainless steel or titanium two-tone band, something like silver and black.

Over a month ago, I ordered a similar watch box. I tracked the package through USPS, but it was somehow lost in transit. Weeks passed as I repeatedly asked for updates on its location, but I received no information.

I requested either a refund or a replacement, but the seller was unwilling to provide one. I then contacted Etsy customer service, and they issued me a refund.

The package finally arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, it was damaged and partially open, and the watch box drawer tray had fallen apart. I attempted to re-glue the tray lid as best as I could, and everything else appears to be in good condition.

I also took additional photos documenting the condition of the package and the damage upon arrival, so I have proof of the extent of the damage in case the seller has any follow-up questions regarding the refund.

Does it tell the time upside down?

That's a good call man. I mentioned my only gripe was the second hand not hitting 100% of the ticks but another major gripe that I forgot is that it only tells time correctly if you put it in a toilet and flush because that counteracts the weird Aussie hemisphere shit.

It's really gross to have to stick your hand in the toilet all the time to fish it out before it goes down the drain.

Over the weekend, I almost bought a new watch. I’ve been looking at a couple of specific models, and one that really caught my eye was the Citizen Tsuki-yomi A-T. The watch represents the moon’s face, and at the store I saw both the silver and the blue versions. I was leaning toward the silver one, but the saleslady said the blue was much prettier.

In the past, I probably would have pulled the trigger and bought it. Plus, I’ve already seen quite a few silver bands with blue faces. Lately, though, I’ve wanted to be different and own styles that other people wouldn’t normally choose.

I told the saleslady that I’d be back later. She replied, “Okay, I’ll put these on hold.” I told her not to, and technically, I never went back. I wanted to do more research on the watch.

There are quite a few features I like. One is that it tells you how much power is left before it needs to be recharged using the Eco-Drive feature. It also shows when the moon rises and sets in your area. On Citizen’s website, I saw other watch face colors, like red and purple, which represent the blood moon. There isn’t an exact term for a purple moon, aside from atmospheric effects in the air.

After seeing pictures and videos online, I realized that I really like those colors. However, I prefer to see them in person, as that would help me make a more confident decision rather than relying solely on a website. The watch is currently on sale, with today being the last day. Still, I believe it will likely go on sale again at some point in the future.

Tsuki-yomi A-T Gray Dial Super Titanium Bracelet BY1010-57H | CITIZEN

Citizen-Tsuki-yomi-Radio-Controlled-Moonphase-7.jpg

Hhhhhooooowwwwwlllllll, I decided to purchase the blood red moon Citizen Tsuki-yomi A-T watch.

After watching several YouTube reviews of this watch, I decided to look for it in person. Yesterday after work, I was able to track down another color option at a different jewelry store. The Citizen website describes the dial as red, but in person it looks more like purple. Under the right lighting or direct sunlight, you can definitely see the red tones that represent the blood red moon. Either way, purple has become one of my favorite colors, and I absolutely love this watch.

This is also the most expensive watch I’ve ever owned. Being a jew, I managed to find a great deal and saved nearly $250 on it. One awesome feature is the lower button, which shows the remaining battery life. Using the crown is just as impressive pull it out once, set the correct time zone, and the watch literally sets itself with the exact time and date.

Since Arizona doesn’t observe Daylight Saving Time, I occasionally need to adjust the time zone, but it only takes a few seconds. The watch uses atomic timekeeping, receiving signals from radio transmitters in Fort Collins, USA, to automatically update the time and date daily.

Thanks to the Super Titanium construction, the watch is incredibly light. I barely feel any weight on my wrist at all.

Yes, I am a hairy wolf jew. :p

Thanks man. Scotch is basically the reason I got into this hobby with my first Seiko and I was talking about it in one of your threads that I moved over here at some point. So, I obviously dig your taste in watches too, especially that one citizen you got a few months back. I'm still thinking about posing off you and buying that same one.

This looks like it smells good.

Sorry for that huge pain in the ass with shipping and it sucks when you finally received it, it was damaged. But you put it back together quite well.
