Original SL 100 vs SL2?

In a hurry to catch my connection, I left my SL100 on the plane and I'm not likely to get it back.

So, I already have two home docks and a car dock. I've read breifly that they can be modified to accommodate a SL2.

The question is, other than the size and the SD card, is it really worth getting a SL2 or would I be better off trying to find another SL100? I never had any problems with my SL100 and would hate to upgrade if the benefites aren't worth the cost or if there are inherent problems with the SL2 that I'm not aware of.

Thanks in advance.

I should add that it looks like I can get the SL100 for $169 online versus the SL2 for $219 after a $50 rebate. Just wondering if you guys thing it's worth it.

I had two of the SL100s and now have owned the SL2 for over a year and feel that it is worth every penney. The SL2 does not get as hot and will run much longer than the SL100 in the summer. The headphones are wearable with out pain.

Also, the 2 SL100's that I returned (as warranty exchanges) both had failed headphone jacks. I'd consider that a weakness, considering the number of people who have reported this same problem. It appears this weakness has been corrected on the S2's.

The memory corruption bug on the S2's remains, however (something the SL100's didn't have). Just buy an extended warranty with whichever one you get.

I've had no problems at all with my SL100 home dock and my SL2. Just used an exacter knife to slice of a tiny bit of the side grooves so the SL2 fit in. Then it works perfectly. Never tried it with the car dock but I've heard it's compatible also.

Generally the SL2 is nicer, faster, and smaller. But the bug where it erases your recordings is a serious set-back.

It's my understanding that the SL2 can connect to more wireless networks than the SL100 can.

I think just the fact that the sl2 has the memory slots it can store more that the sl100. I have the s100 and I am thinking about an iPod, but the sl2 can bypass all that. (if thats what your into)
