is that they don't edit all the commercial breaks out of it. I mean, its already f*cked up, I'm listening to terrestrial replays 4 days a week, but it annoys the hell out of me when they take commercial breaks 5 minutes into the show. I mean why would anyone pay for sirius to hear commercials that frequently?

if I could actually use my P&P unit in my office still (no windows in my new office), I wouldn't care, cuz I could easily flip channels. but flipping channels a lot on stream on is a pain in the ass as my favorites won't work anymore.

It's still two breaks an hour. If he takes one early, he can avoid having 2 breaks in the last half hour.

**edit But 3 in the first 45 minutes is overkill.

I hear ya man. I couldn't believe they were already at commercial litteraly 5 minutes in. They had two breaks before the half hour mark. I still love the Bubba show. I just turn to a music channel. I hate commercials. It kinda reminded me of The Howard K rock days. He would come on sometimes and say lets get the first one out of the way I hated that.

commericals were horrible on krock. if I didn't time my commute right, I would hear none of the show on the way to work cuz it'd be a 30 min plus commercial break.

It wasn't even this bad last year. It's a recent development with the affiliates putting more pressure on him to hit those spots.

I hate to be the "it was better in the past" guy, since there's enough of that going around, but in terms of pacing and flow, things were a lot smoother on FM last year. There were long stretches of time without a break.

According to Bubba, it's what the FM program directors want.

(We bitch no matter what...anyone remember about this time last year, when he'd take 3 breaks after 2:05 PM?)

I think Artie had the same situation when he was in LA.

...yet HE managed to find time to snort cocaine in a pig suit during those breaks. :p

I'm really not "bitching" about it. I turn to a music channel so I don't have to hear commercials. I was just giving my input. I was pretty sure Bubba's program director was responsible. It just solidifies why I choose Sirius over plain old tired, censored, commercial filled FM radio.

I don't blame Bubba for going back. Sirius screwed him over as usual. I just hate commercials is all.

FM generally does have more commercial slots the terrestial - but they break them up differently.. In my area they do 2 minutes of commercials, that's there way to say "we're trying to make you think your getting less commercails" but they just do twice as many breaks as before now... screw terrestrial.

And the live K-rock Feed of Bubba's show is WAY more brutal - you ever hear that "96k-rock blah blah blah" and then the next thing is the exact same thing with slightly different audio? And they do it 6 times in a row? Drives me batshit.

When I went away from my local FM station, they would play bumpers between almost every song. They usually took commercial breaks at :20 and :50 after. I had a radio in my bathroom and could literally time my showers to my watch.

Luckily, Octane was playing similiar music at the time, so I was able to make the switch very easily.

They don't air all the commercials that air on the actual FM airwaves so they have to pack in a lot of filler.
