Two things:

Yeah, Obama threw a looping fly to first that would have bounced had Pujols not leaned in to get it, but he did throw it a hell of a lot closer than Gary did. Advantage Obama...

The other thing is that Obama didn't go all Artie Lange on Joe Buck when he came in to do a half inning of banter. He didn't ask Joe about Suckingcock.com and he didn't try balance a cigarette between his lips and chin. Advantage Obama.

I was at the game and I heard a guy say after the Obama first pitch "well at least it wasn't as bad as Baba Booey's" No joke. I couldn't believe it. He had no idea I was wearing the Baba Booey Jersey and had the signed ball there.

His throw was still a little light. I don't know why we can't get somebody to just fire one in there.

Also, in Obama's defense, I'm sure under that SOX jacket he has on some pretty sick BODY ARMOR and that woudl make throwing a little harder.

But, it would be great press and pretty intimidating to other world leaders if we had a President that could fire in just an 85 mph bomb.

Obama at least threw from the rubber and had somewhat of a windup. The pitch did fall short of the plate by a few inches, but it was serviceable.

Amazing how Gary's debacle has placed an emphasis on such a meaningless pregame ritual.
