No radios in Stock

I am trying to upgrade to a Sportster 5 going through Circuit City. My sportster 4 antenna reception only comes in if the radio is propped forward in the docking station. This is true for the car dock and 2 home docks (one is brand new) so it seems it is a connection problem in the radio. I am going through Circuit City because I have time left on the service contract I paid for and will be able to exchange a new radio for the broken one.

The salesperson there said there are no radios in stock because of the merger and they are waiting for new radios that will be Sirius/XM ready. He said XM have these radios out already but not Sirius.

Does this sound right? If so any idea when the radios will be out there? My sportster 4 is not getting better.

The issue of Circuit City not having radios is more because they have financial troubles and not because of the merger. It's amazing how many BS answers are giving out to people just to give them an answer.

I would try calling around to a few more Circuit City stores. I'm sure one of them has a Sportster 5.

I agree that it likely has more to do with this than anything else. I was in Besty Buy over the weekend and they are loaded up with all sorts of Sirius radios and accessory stock.

Circuit City is in bankruptcy. Many suppliers will only ship after being paid cash up front.

What the salesperson/clerk told you at the store is total BS

Been in a CC lately? There are more sales people than customers in those stores these days.

Best to stick with BB (or TSS, of course).

TSS-Radio is totally the way to go for your Sirius needs. I may be slightly biased but I honestly prefer us to even Best Buy because we offer excellent customer support and consistently offer great discounts. Not too mention our inventory is huge when it comes to the many accessories one could need for your home or car!

I do buy my peripherals from TSS, but when it comes to receivers, BB has a distinct advantage. When all 4 of my S50's and both SL100's failed, I was back in business with warranty replacements from Best Buy within an hour or so EVERY time. And when the S2 replacement comes out, I'll be getting that one as well. I'll just have to spring for another (still $40, hopefully) PSP and any difference (none, hopefully) in receiver price

As good as TSS's customer service is - and there have been tons of testimonials to that here - if you are at the mercy of mailing your receiver and waiting for a new one, you're likely going to miss a couple of Stern shows. And Stern is why many of us have Sirius in the first place.

It would be kind of silly for him to buy a radio from TSS if he can get one for free from CC wouldn't it?

Maybe some of you guys just aren't reading the thread or something. I'm sure if he is willing to drive to other CC's he'll eventually find another unit.
