2. So people break them and need to replace them more often. - Yes.
It's not like a cell phone, which will fit into your pocket more easily if it's thin (and they have rigid frames). LG makes a G1 "Gallery" line, which has to be wall-mounted. I imagine they do something to distribute the electronics so the whole thing is somewhat thin. But with this TV, the thinness is of no use when wall mounting, because you still have the big electronic "ass" sticking out.
