Just mounted an new antenna (Sirius Outdoor Home Antenna Model 14240). I put it up (without checking its function...) and get "no Antenna detected. Is there a way I can check to see if it's the antenna or the cable? I do get full function with another antenna stuck out the window).
Thanks!

What you need to do is make sure your radio is on and it displays "antenna not detected". Disconnect the cable from the antenna. Grab a screwdriver or other metal object and touch it to the center pin or wire that's exposed. Make sure you are only touching the wire and not the outer housing, think of the old game "Operation". If your radio continues to display "antenna not detected" you have a bad cable or pigtail cable that's converting your RG6 to the sirius input. However, if it displays "acquiring signal" or gets a reception and starts playing a station, then you know it's the antenna. Who did you buy this from? If it was us (TSS Radio) give us a call and we can handle it.

I got the same one that's giving the same error. Never even mounted it outside.

Hooked up some old ass come antenna with a wire that's cut and it works without issue.

I dunno.

Operation? This is why I like Sirius Internet Radio in the house.

Tested

Matt; Using your tests I was able to determine that it was a bad cable. I have returned the whole thing to the vendor for a refund. When the refund gets processed, I'll order a replacement from you. Thanks for the help!

Glad I could help. Thank you for taking the problem into your own hands and trying to find a solution. I like to see people be pro-active about these things since they can tend to be finicky and complex. Any other question you have don't hesitate to ask.

Why is the Adam's Apple only worth 100 points when the - arguably easier - Funny Bone is worth 200? ;)

It's a design flaw in the game. It was supposed to be changed, but one of the original creators (Arnold Brimstone) died tragically in a surfing accident. The game has remained the same since to pay homage to the deceased creator. To this day workers at Milton Bradley will call out other employees when someone royally screws up with a loud a proud "You just pulled an Arnie B!"

Does anyone have any other questions?

Disclaimer: The above answer is not true. John Spinello created the game in college and Milton Bradley picked it up in 1965. He retired a wealthy man and died in his sleep at his home in rural Illinois in 2004. Now, don't you think my answer was more fun?;)
