New laws began today regarding endorsements and reviews etc. The actual PDF from the Federal Trade Commission is 81 pages. It was overwhelming so I googled looking for a summary and found this site with a simplified explanation.

I can see why these laws were put into place but it leaves a huge gray area for everyday bloggers and message board posters to do something wrong with a potential fine of $10,000.

Overall the laws have changed effective Dec 1, 2009 regarding endorsements and reviews of products in the public's view. If I send DAB a radio to review he has to state that we sent it to him and if he was paid for doing the review.

intersting stuff, and i don't see any problem with it from the quick skim through i did. If you get paid to do a review, let the people know.

I am wondering though, if a "cartoon" character says they lost 30lbs in 30 days on nutrajunk, do they need to disclose what other activities affected them?
