Less than two weeks to go if the rumor is true. I guess things will be "interesting" after the transition for Sirius and for this forum. I can only imagine all the wining and complaining (no offense meant to anyone as I will probably be amongst that crowd).

Those who win will not complain. Those who don't will probably whine.

Whining, complaining, and canceling.

Waaa the channel name Squizz is going away but oh what is this? There is still a hard rock channel out there under a different name. Get over it, people were going to get fired, channels were going to get cut. What did you expect? Their current business model wasn't making them money so they have to get rid of the expenses.

You will still have the music. Don't like it, stick in your more repetative ipod.

I agree that they need to cut expenses, but keeping Squizz and Octane isn't why they aren't making a profit. I'm sure it costs very little to broadcast a channel.

Leasing space in NYC, 500 million for one show, giving Oprah and Martha Stewart big money for unpopular channels, and the enormous cost in bidding for sports,This is where they need to save money.

back on topic
Channel 24: The 24 hour channel of rotating one artist a day.
That would make too much sense, so it will never happen, but how about .........
Channel 26 The Boone's :The Music of Pat and Debby Boone

Those tiny expenses do add up though, and I bet you a decent chunk of money is being saved by dumping channels and combining 1 channel broadcasting to both XM and Sirius subscribers.

Not to mention it should help in reducing the confusion between the 2 services. They are eventually down the road going to be able to let you choose what you want via a la carte, it would makes sense to provide one set of music channels to either side.

I agree if you keep making exceptions to keep this or add that, then you end up not saving the amount of money you need to. I think they are doing whatever they have to do and granted change is hard but they are indeed an absolute necessity. Every little bit adds up to be significant over the period of a year no matter how insignificant it may appear on the surface as it is the combination of all cuts that will get them where they ned to be.

I think once this is done in the long run it will help. They are planning way down the right to move to one system and combining all the spectrum under that one system. So, this is all part of that over plan.

Keep in mind they have been planning this for over a year now because of how long the merger took to be approved. They have had a ton of time to really plan this out and decide what direction the company wanted to take. This is all part of their master plan, and we honestly shouldn't be too quick to judge it.

In the meantime there's going to be a lot of bitching about people losing their favorite stations.

No doubt about it, bitching before and a lot of bitching after that channel changes take place. I know the XM'ers feel like XM is basically being gutted, so I can understand of their concerns.

Hearing Kim this morning on the Pulse continue to say check us out 3 notches up on Wedneday Nov 12 tells me that LED Zepplin isn't in its final home yet. Which will likely be channel 33 as XM web site is saying and we are likely getting XM's channel 90s on 9. Then does this mean Sirius Disorder on channel 33 is gone? I think the Sirius Disorder Content will likely live on with a different name since it will be on both services. Sort of like Sirius Love and Sirius Hits 1 surely those will be rebranded or they will use the XM name.

All interesting stuff, I am almost excited to see what they've come up with. Though my excitement might just be short lived.
