Hey folks--I need to wipe clean an old P-II running Windows NT BackOffice server (circa 1996). If I could just get to a command prompt OUTSIDE of Windows, it would be an easy format c:. But I can't get a prompt.

Any suggestions, or is there a better way to wipe the HD? (Chucking it in the landfill as is, is not an option).

thanks

booting a p2 to cd might be tough...none of mine ever could do it w/o a floppy boot loader.

but ultimate boot cd is very useful tool to have in your kit.

Thanks... I managed to get partway through Win98 setup off a CD before it found a disk error and aborted...gonna try that Ultimate Boot CD next.

Found "Darik's Boot and Nuke" linked from the Ultimate Boot CD website. It's now wiping the hard drive to DoD standards...which is to say, good enough for BMF.

"I'm BMF, and I certify that not even a cross-eyed Mexican midget whore can retrieve data from this hard disk. Hooah!" :p
