The NBA all-star game is this weekend. The game itself is always fun. I know they don't play defense for the first 3 quarters, but you get to see the best athletes in the world showing off their skills. It usually makes for an entertaining game.

More than the game itself, I probably prefer the skills competitions they have on the Saturday Night. Shooting Stars competition, Three Point Shootout, and Slam Dunk Contest.

I think this is my favorite all-star weekend moment...

Don't forget H-O-R-S-E! Looks like the competitors will be Joe Johnson (Hawks), O.J. Mayo (Grizzlies), and Kevin Durant (Thunder). Players will have 24 seconds to create or mimic shots, and no dunking allowed. Should be interesting.

Did you watch that H-O-R-S-E competition Aaron? I thought it was pretty boring actually. Not a lot of imaginative shots and it lasted too long. Maybe having Charles Barkley's commentary would have made the event more entertaining...Chris Webber is okay, but TNT's coverage isn't nearly as good without Sir Charles. Good news is, he'll be back after this weekend.

Anyway, Kevin Durant ended up winning...some highlights in case anyone missed it...

Too many jump shots... not a lot of creativity.

Are you a NASCAR fan, Avuncular? Daytona is on, and I'm watching the 1988 NBA All-Star Game on ESPN Classics! I can't get into racing. Anywho, the NBA was never so good as it was in '88. Brought back a lot of memories watching that one. The old guys like Kareem and Moses Malone were still around. Before Larry Bird's injuries. Before Isiah ruined the CBA (and the Knicks). Olajuwon, Karl Malone, Ewing, Jordan, etc. all in their prime.

Yeah I couldn't care less about auto racing. I just don't see what the appeal is. Sure is popular on this site though...that NASCAR forum is always busy.

The All-Star game tonight was a snoozer. The West went on that 19-0 run in the 2nd quarter, and after that, the game wasn't all that competitive.

I know the All-Star game was held in my town, I only watch the game off and on. But I did see in the 1Q East was on a run for a while. But I did see the final score 149 - 119 high scoring game. Seemed funny to see Shaq and Kobe on the same team again, there probably some Spurs fan here but I have to agree with the Suns fans, I boo at the Spurs players.

The announcers will have a chance of a lifetime to watch Texas Tech basketball.

Again, not if they'll be in Dallas. While it is in Texas like you so impressively pointed out, Dallas is still 350 miles away from Lubbock.

It will be well worth the drive to see Texas Tech play.

Oh, well if you say so.

Hey I just noticed your signature. I like it. You're pretty obsessed with me, huh?

I also like that you have provided us with a list of all your equipment.

I have always listed quotes in my signature. Yours just happens to be the best one right now......by far. I did not want to mention who said it but I guess you did.

I am only obsessed with Mrs. goreds2.

I don't think I am the only one here that lists all their satellite radio equipment.

Yes but what you do is provide us with locations for your equipment as well. That's really cool.

Looks like you may also have a thing for Willy Wonka. Or Gene Wilder, I can't be sure.

Buckeyes are nuts. That should be your new quote.
