I made up a "dance your ass off" custom Slacker station, and I added a whole bunch of artists (over 200) trying to cover the entire mainstraem dance genre from 1975 disco all the way up until today. The station is quite good, but I sometimes get music played that is not dance music- i.e. "love songs". Why is this happening? I always ban songs that do not fit the station category, and I guess I could use the premium service and pick out individual songs from each of my artists, but that's a lot of work! I want to be a Slacker! I guess all I can do is just continue to ban the songs I deem inappropriate for the station. Am I missing something?

Well that is key, you have to ban until the channel gets to where you want it. This is one of the missing components of Slackers customization. You really should be able to select specific years, specific sub-genres. It was very difficult during the holidays to create holiday stations because there was no way to tell the customization that you wanted just the holiday music, so you'd end up getting mostly non holiday. I eventually had to create them using the song search features and favoring them. Then selecting for it to play nothing but favorites. There should be a much better way to do this.
Same thing with most of the stations I've created so far, but that's why they gave us a ban button. One push and you'll never heard that song again. It takes some work to get your station tuned in properly.
Your only option is to keep banning or get the Plus / Premium option which will let you pick specific songs for you station to play. Otherwise, Slacker has no clue you're only looking for dance tunes on that station.
