God dammit. I decided to download tagandrename to automate the tagging and renaming of my mp3 collection which is 63 gigs of albums. Only thing I could find that would do an entire batch process of them all.

PROBLEM: EVERY ALBUM IS OUT OF TRACK ORDER NOW.

Is there any other good tag and renaming program that will do batch shit, look up the track order and do everything correctly?

I like MP3Tag:

Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v1, ID3v2, APEv2)

Don't think it'll batch process your files as you need, but it's a very good freeware package.

Edit: If your track numbers are still preserved in the filename OR the ID3 tag it will allow you to create a rename/retag batch operation where you can make use of the track number. But if your track numbers are completely gone, you might be out of luck.

That's a tough situation. I spent 2 weekends doing it manually because I couldn't find any good software without screwing everything up. I used a program called Media Monkey which was cool, but just didn't do everything that I expected.

It turns out they are in the correct order in the id3 tags but Winamp is a POS and won't load it via that. Foobar opens everything in the right order. Uninstalling winamp

Then you should easily be able to batch rename them with a track number with MP3 Tag.
