Just got home with a 13" MacBook Pro and a free iPod Touch 8g for the wife.

Just thought I'd share. :churn:

So what are your thoughts on the graphics. Seems almost every review I've read the graphics always seem to come up as the negative aspect. The one I saw at Best Buy looked good, but then I really couldn't tell that much because of all the bright lights.

I am considering one, but I need to get to July before I buy anything else. LOL

By the way did you sell your MacBook?

I had my MBP next to my MB after I migrated all the info over. The screens and set up were the same. The MBP was a little bit brighter.

It is a sweet machine.

I have not sold my MacBook yet. But I know I can and will. :)

Well it maybe time for you to get over your fear of EBAY and go for it.

You remember when I bought my MacBook I had it two weeks when I realized it was just not going to work for me. I sold it with 3 hours of posting it for exactly what I paid, including shipping!

Congrats on the new toy, I know you'll love it.

I've got a glossy screen on my HP, and it's much better than I thought it would be.
It's so much easier to keep clean than the matte.

I have an eee with matte and an accer with glossy. cannot stand the way lights and windows behind me reflect off the glossy ones.

if glossy is so much better why do stand alone digital home monitors come mostly in matte?

You can't compare that Acer to most other manufacturers. I have a Samsung Netbook that is glossy and of course I've bought several different Netbooks this year for staff. The Acer's and the Samsungs both came with glossy displays, but when you compare them that Acer is terribly reflective while the Samsung gives you the vivid colors of a glossy, it isn't nearly as refective, so not all glossy are created equally.

Also the stand alone mostly digital are slowly moving to glossy, I am seeing more and more of them now!

Anyway lets not steal MM's thread debating the merits or demerits of glossy vs matte.

gee sorry to try and have a discussion...the reason i asked mm what his(her?) had, was for his feedback on it.. i thought some mac's still came in matte and was wondering if it was a consideration in mm's purchase.

when i walk through bb and look at all the glossy screens all i can see is the overhead lights reflecting off them, rather than the nice graphics they are supposed to display...maybe its just my eyes..but it bugs me to no end.

and I was ready to get a mac.

No big deal, the fact is some do prefer matte, I was one for a long time, but I've grown to appreciate the rich vivid details that a gloss provides. I think the biggest mistake is walking through a department store seeing all the shiny lights and then assuming that will be replicated at home. I have ZERO issues with my gloss at home or when I take it on the road in hotel rooms. Do I site in front a big picture window using it NO! But I wouldn't do that with a matte display either.

Anyway... MM got him a Mac and he loves the glossy screen so in this case that is the only thing that is important. I won't miss out of getting a Mac because of the display, because that Samsung taught me a thing or two. But Acer they have THE worse glossy display on the market.

Here's a pic that I promised.

Both were at the same brightness.

I'm not familiar with Mac's that much. Is the one on the left the new one?

Congrats, hope you enjoy the new toy. I need a new keyboard on my Dell laptop, but otherwise I'm happy with it running windows 7.

I think the new MBP will be my next purchase, just which one.

Is it running Snow Leopard? How's that working?
