After doing a little research I found that you have to purchase the package for Mirge on the Sirius side. If you have an XM account you have to cancel it and subscribe through the Sirius side. That is if you want both services for 19.99. My question is can you get XMRO for 2.99 with this package??

I dont know , I would look and see what happens. Personally I find it to be bizzare you have to cancel XM and go over to Sirius to get the reciver.

The package is only available on the Sirius Side. Most of the XM reps don't have a clue what your talking about when you mention the 19.99 package. I finally talked to someone who said you had to order the package through the Sirius side. When I talked to Sirius, they knew right away what I was talking about. I asked if I could transfer my account from XM, they put me on hold to ask someone, and came back to say you had to delete the xm account because the 19.99 deal was only offered on the Sirius side. Of course you could always keep that XM account, but then you would be paying for 2 subs.

I hope someone can prove me wrong, but the only way to activate the reciever online is through this website.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio - MiRGE Interoperable Satellite Radio

under FAQ

BILLING & ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

Q: I am an existing XM subscriber. Can I add the MiRGE™ radio to my XM account and still get every channel of both XM and SIRIUS?

A: No, you need a SIRIUS account for your MiRGE™ radio, and it will be billed separately.

Q: As an XM radio subscriber, am I eligible for a multi-radio discount with the MiRGE™ radio?

A: No, multi-radio discounts only apply to radios on the same account.

Hmmm...

So if we already are set up on the Sirius side, I wonder how this would work. Could it be an "additional radio"? Also, what if you have a lifetime sub?

First go around...

It does not seem as if you can transfer a Sirius lifetime subscription to the Mirge. There seemed to be a language barrier, so I am not sure if it is just "NO" or if you can make it a lifetime subscription to the Mirge for some sort of additional charge.

Customer service (call #2) says that as of right now, there is no lifetime option for the all-in-one package. The guy thinks that I can transfer the lifetime Sirius subscription to the Mirge radio, but then I would have to contact XM and get a plan through them to activate that side of the radio. Thus, there's really no benefit.

Maybe they'll come up with something else down the road. My Sportster Replay is getting flaky (display is screwed up -- turns on and off all the time)...so if I have to replace it, I guess I'll stick with the Sirius only radio. I guess I could get something newer, or just get a refurb Sportster so that it fits my brackets. Hmmm.

That's EXACTLY what's going on over here. Still works the nuts though and it's been well over a year since the display lights screwed up and to give up the FM reception it has would be tough. At least 100ft in all directions is crystal clear.

I've had good luck buying old but new radios on ebay to keep the ability to use all of my docks that I bought for my Audiovox PNP3 back in 2004. My first radio died, but I still have two others working just fine. The last one I bought two years ago still in the unopened package for $30.
