I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find it with a search. I have been a SIRIUS suscriber for about 3 years now. Been loving the service and have 3 radios installed. One in home and two in vehicles.

Now, while I have pretty much been for the merger & still happy with the service for the most part (ANYTHING is better than FM), I am a little disppointed at the "best of XM" package for SIRIUS. I was thinking of simply getting some XM equipment and adding "Best of SIRIUS".

Actually, what I wanted to do is get one XM receiver for the wife's car and add "Best of SIRIUS" since she is interested in the Oprah channel and I would be interested in occasional NFL and Stern programming when I drive that car sometimes. I would just keep my other two SIRIUS radios the way they are.

Is it possible to have one XM receiver with "Best of SIRIUS" at $16.95/month and then have my other two SIRIUS receivers as additional units at $6.99/month? Or will I have to pay $12.95/month for the first additional SIRIUS unit and then $6.99 for the 3rd SIRIUS radio?

I was hoping they'd do something like that myself but so far you can't do it. And there's no indication if they ever will do it.

Well... If XM now offers a Lifetime subscription plan, then I would think that they will eventually work on merging accounts. There must be some significant cost savings in the long run if they do so.

One of the DJs was promoting a lifetime sub and gave an 800 number which was not one I recognized. They may have a unified 800 number access or the starts of one.

Hopefully at some point when they get the accounting and activation systems merged or at least abke to speak to each other this is something they will consider. I would not hold my breath for it to happen anytime real soon though!

While they rushed, rushed to get those music channels mergered and save a buck for some reason in this capcaity, Sirius and XM are still seperate entities and as long as it makes them money, they probably won't change. In other words, if you have an XM (with or without "Best Of") you can't just tack on a Sirius for half price...but what a wonderful world it would be if you could. Hell, if I found an XM radio cheap, I would try it. So it looks like you're going to be paying:

XM with "Best of Sirius": $16.95
Sirius: $12.95
Additional Sirius: $6.99
Sirius XM doing all they can to fuck over their customers: Priceless!
