Are you denying that Dallas had one of the best offensive lines EVER during their dynasty? Do you think that just maybe that had something to do with Emmitt Smith's success? No, not all of it. But it sure did contribute greatly. That's all I'm saying. Put Emmitt on those Detroit teams that Sanders played on. No way he even comes close to putting up the numbers Barry did.

Just because Emmitt has the most rushing yards of all-time, doesn't make him the best running back ever...at least not to me. Brett Favre has a number of passing records. Would you consider him the best QB of all-time? I'd hope not.

Actually I do consider Favre very OVER RATED. Yes OF COURSE the Dallas O Line helped E-Smith win the All Time Rushing Title but to lessen his achievements because of that line is obtuse.

Obtuse, nice. That's a good word. Reminds me of The Shawshank Redemption.

OBTUSE???? PUT HIM IN THE HOLE!!!

I'm sorry but Barry retired ahead of Emmit in terms of yards and would be the all time leading rusher if he had stuck it out with the Liedowns....

Barry Sand=G.O.A.T

hands down....you cannot tell me anyone is better. You can debate Jim Brown and Walter Payton for that title and I'll listen and argue but don't even bring Emmit into the conversation!

Glad you got my Shawshank reference.

I don't know if Sanders was the best ever, but he was certainly better than Emmitt Smith, I agree. Emmitt Smith may be more accomplished (due to the talent that surrounded him and the length of his career), but he wasn't better, wasn't more talented.

I guess I have to respect my superiors. you being a cassette player and I just a lowly 8 track player...

I stand by my convictions and we all know who is right
:eek::eek::eek:

ROFL! Now THAT'S a mature response! LOL! It's called MATTER OF OPINION my friend. FWIW, I think Gale Sayers, Sweetness AND Barry Sanders are all better RB's than E-Smith. I do think that E-Smith is a better All Round player than those very same guy's, however. Better blocker, pass receiver.

What irked me was this: "Emmit was trash. He played behind an ridiculous line for his whole carreer. OVER RATED "

Perhap's we can keep this thread OT?
