Lithium is Lithium by name only

Welcome to Lucy (which I prefer, personally)

I have noticed a change in music. It doesn't seem to be a HUGE change, but there does seem to be a little less grunge and some new artists/songs on the playlist.

If only they'd play the new pearl jam and stp stuff...:)

Is this what XM people had to deal with??? This crap???

Actually Lucy was funny in its promos, its style. It was not at all like the boring Sirius Lithium.

Now Playing:

Crash Test Dummies - MMMMMMMMMM

This does not belong on a "grunge" station.
Play it on 90s on 9, The Pulse, The Blend but not Lithium!

It is an alternative music selection from the 90s. Lithium is not supposed to be a grunge station. The fact that when it was on Sirius alone it was grunge focused was strincly a decision of the PD (or perhaps it was listed as grunge?). But its merged now and its listed as 90s alternative.

This is encouraging. I will give it a listen. I had pretty much written off this station when it merged as the inferior Sirius version. Sounds like they have made the necessary improvements to make it listenable.

crap is 30 Pearl Jam and Nirvana songs a day. I think they received so many complaints about Lucy being dropped that they had to change the format a little bit.

It still sucks.

Just checked the last songs played.

SHOCKING AIC, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana in a group just randomly checking this dog shit channel. Seriously how much flannel and bar chords can a person tolerate in one day?

This is obviously a controversial channel. I think that the way Lithium was setup was obviously too grunge-based with Pearl Jam/Nirvana/Alice in Chains/Soundgarden most heavily played. But they did play other "alternative" bands because the late 90s obviously did not have a big grunge influence. I do not think Seal has a place on this channel, and I heard a bumper that implied they'd play "Bohemian Rhapsody" which also should not see any time on this channel. U2 used to be played on the old Lithium which I thought was misplaced as well.

Yes, shocking they'd play grunge music on a channel that bills itself as "grunge and '90's alternative". If you don't want "flannel and bar chords" as you put it, change the channel. Too bad Lucy is gone, but it is.

They did a piss poor job merging these channels. In theory the focus should have shifted off the grunge crap and more to pure 90s alternative. Lithium is a poor substitute for Lucy.

Oh well, I'm pissed about no Backspin or The Stobe myself. But I guess I have to move on. And so do you. There must be some station you can listen to and enjoy that can take your mind off of your disappointment in Lithium for a spell.

Happy

Count me as one of the people who actually welcome the change. I got burnt out on the old Lithium real quick... I mean how many times do I need to hear Black Hole Sun.

Thumbs up to the new variety but again, we all have our opinions... just expressing mine.

As many as it takes

A million anti-lithium threads here won't make any difference.

One is fine. That can be used to let others know that are dissatisfied with it that they should send an email or letter or call to Sirius programming and let them know.

Obviously some changes have already happened, whether it was something they are constantly working on behind hte scenes to combine the playlist, or because of listener complaints. But something is changing. The best thing to do is talk to SiriusXM about it. Making thread after thread after thread and posting every song that plays and saying it sucks will not change the station.

I understand being upset and pissed off and whatever else because of a stations poor selection of songs in your opinion, but it won't do any good here. Repeating it ad nausea just won't get anything done.
