The other day, I was on Twitter, and one of the trending topics was "Leave it in the 00's", where people mention things that should next survive the transition to the next decade.

Here's some of the things that I think should be left behind:

The whole Bush family
Sarah Palin
MTV
Britney Spears
Rush Limbaugh
Walmart
reality TV
the Religious Right
health insurance companies
Octo-Mom
corporate terrestrial radio
country music

How great of a list is that?!?!
Add "tabloid sensationalism" and we're looking at a new Utopia.

Britney can stay, but only if she keeps her head shaved.

Im calling this decade the "Oughts" or the "Ohh's"-

When my kids get old they get to tell their grandkids " I was born before the turn of the century." :D

It was by far my favorite decade. My daughter was born and I got married.

Hard to argue about with the decade in which your child was born. But I was born in the 70s, yet the 80s are by far my favorite decade. The formative years and all that.

What kind of Country music are we talking here? If it's the Carrie Underwoods and Bucky Covingtons of the world I agree. But I will defend Hank, Merle, George and Johnny any day. Plus one or two country bands aren't bad (Zac Brown Band for example).
