don't you people know that danicle is the bestest fourth place winner of the innynapolis 500 in history?

danica patrick is the worst thing to happen to open wheel racing. anyone hear of a driver named katherine legge? here's a fun fact: katherine legge has won more open wheel races than danica patrick has. and patrick's one win occurred:
1) in japan in the middle of the night
2) on some convoluted fuel strategy by (marlboro) team penske which told helio castronodashneves to let her by in the closing laps to save fuel (when it was noted helio had plenty of fuel left afterwards)
3) the night before the last official champcar race, a day and race in which should have been used to celebrate the life and times of the championship auto racing teams/champcar legacy instead turned into a celebration of a win in which nobody watched and in the end didn't matter. shirley muldowney and lyn st. james and janet guthrie were and are more significant than danicle ever will be.

if danicle is so good, how come she hasn't won yet in an andretti-green car, which is one of the top teams in the league or placed very well in any situation that has not been dictated by fuel strategy?

i hope she goes to nascar so she will be exposed for the overhyped asian boy looking fraud that she is. i belong to an open wheel racing forum and there have been several members who have encountered princess sparklepony. unfortunately its down right now, but there arae some stories about her and her attitude and the way she treats fans that need to be told over and over and over again.

I don't care if she'd ever win a race. The attention that she would bring to NASCAR would be great. :yesshake:

Oh, I don't know if I believe that. It could be a HUGE blunder.

How do you figure? I don't think it matters if she produces. Cup racing is full of all types that don't produce.

The world didn't stop when a woman named Shawna Roberts joined NaSCAR. She failed to make about half the races she was trying to qualify for and was a menace out on the track.

Umm..first of all her name is Shawna ROBINSON and second of all, she was driver for Beth Ann Morgenthau and BAM Racing in their first Cup season so no wonder she didn't qualify for all the races. Actually, racing reference says she attempted 8 races in the #49 and made 7 of them

Danica visits Stewart Haas

Just when things start to die down a little, she makes another NASCAR related visit. Is SHR trying to lure her to their organization or is it yet another ploy in her contract negations for her IRL ride. You decide.

Info from Jayski.....

IRL star Danica Patrick was at Stewart Haas racing Monday on a personal shop tour, she even went into the fan zone and signed autographs for a bunch of surprised fans who were visiting the shop.

Patrick was a guest of team owner Tony Stewart last fall at Phoenix. But the two-time Cup champion was not available to be a guide Monday because he was at a Goodyear tire test at Atlanta Motor Speedway. According to sources, Patrick was introduced to Ryan Newman, crew chief Tony Gibson, General Manager Bobby Hutchens and engineer Matt Borland. The tour included stops in the fabrication shop and a look at the seven-post shaker rig.

Does she even like the cup cars?

NASCAR could be running Barbie Cars and I think it wouldn't matter to her anymore. She was trained to race in Formula 1, so even the IRL cars are not the same as an F1 car

She's almost 30. She needs to make the jump now or else forget about it :worried:

At first I thought this would never happen. Then I changed my mind to thinking that she may just do it. Now I'm back to it's not going to happen. While I think it would be great for NASCAR and most certainly would create a boost in the television ratings, I don't think that she could amount to much in CUP. I doubt that she is going to want to work her way up to Cup and I think that learning curve would be to high.

I've been thinking about this. So, "we fans" think she can't make the jump straight into Cup cars. Well, so what? Let her try. It's really none of our business and the sun will come up the next day no matter if she is successful or not. It is a free market economy, so let the chips fall where they may (not Chip Ganassi). I think anybody who can bring sponsorship, if that's what is required, should be able to give it a try if they can find an owner willing to go with them.

On another note, I can remember years ago when in the open wheel series, the tide started turning to where people couldn't get rides over there without having sponsorship in their pocket. Now, NASCAR is the same way, right? Just things I think about.

I don't have a problem with her trying to make it. Heck, I don't have a problem if you wanted to drive in Cup. I'm just looking at the history of other drivers trying to make that same move & there's not a lot of success to date. Notice, I said, not a lot. I didn't say none. If she did come over, I think it would be huge for the sport, for a while. She'd probably win the Most Popular in her first year. After a while the shine would wear off and she'd be gone.

You're correct on that sponsor thing. Although, it looks like Paul Menard may be having some issues in 2010.

NASCAR TV Networks Drooling Over Danica

There are a lot of professional athletes who know how to use the media, but none may be doing a better job right now than IRL driver and cover girl Danica Patrick.

Her Monday visit to the shops of Stewart-Haas Racing set the reporters typing, the radio hosts talking and the NASCAR TV networks drooling. In an era where the tail often wags the dog, Patrick is proving to be media savvy beyond her years.

Good article on this subject here.....

I don't mind her coming to Nascar. I just hope she races a lot of Nationwide races so she can get her feet wet. Thats what Stewart did and he has always been a hell of a driver. I'm just wondering if her ego will allow her to race a lot of Nationwide races.

When does the IRL season end? If she is serious and signs a NASCAR deal she needs to start racing fendered cars this year. ARCA, Trucks, Nartionwide, Cup. Any car she can get into before the NASCAR season ends in November.
