  • 320GB 5400RPM Hard Drive
  • DVD Recordable (Dual Layer) 24X Max

The company I work for for has been 100% IBM/Lenovo for about 5 years now. I can remember when they rightly had the "StinkPad" nickname, but I like them a lot now.

This post was written on a Lenovo T61.

Face recognition security? How does that exactly work?

Yeah, especially with Ryan's face! :p

I have to laugh about the two-year-old computer. My desktop is 5 1/2 years old and I have no plans to replace it! Or means to replace it...:(

Still, that's a nice machine at a good price. I wonder about the 64-bit Vista. Nothing I've seen says 64-bit is faster for 99% of the applications out there.

That sounds lik a sweet deal.

My desktop at home has only 512MB memory and it is still pretty quick so I can't imagine what 2gig is memory would be like.

When this desktop goes, I'm done with the desktops and just getting a laptop for the home. I do ZERO gaming on it and really just use it for blazing the interweb.

No Blu-Ray on the Lenovo?

These are defo good notebooks. When I did my last contract bid HP just barely beat out IBM for the Lenovo line. The thing that got the contract for HP is that ALL HP business equipment comes with a 3 year on site warranty. IBM only offers this on certain models and I can tell you it is mainly on their higher end models. I was given a Lenovo Notebook for 6 weeks to play around on. I don't remember the model, but it was darn sweet, I almost hated given it back.

I got the tracking # today and it should be here soon!

I thought for sure you were going to tell him he should have gotten a Mac! LOL ;)

Ha, that's a good one! I just got 3x the computer for 1/2 the cost of the crapple. Some of you can continue to bow before the cult of Jobs. REAL computer users will stick with their PCs, thank you very much. :jj:

But I do have an iPod Touch and that thing has certainly been enjoyable!

Not just us kool-aid drinkers... Computerworld - arguably a mostly PC-centric rag - even found that the latest Macbooks are worthy of matching gear that a lot of enterprises use. Dell cheapo $599 laptops don't count as a valid comparison, otherwise the more expensive 'enterprise class' portables wouldn't exist.

Opinion: Apple's new MacBook is a stealth business notebook

Anyhow, it all comes down to what you like. That being said, stop hindering our attempts to convert others ;)

I agree with you. :yesshake:

I still have my Vista laptop and I run XP and Vista Ultimate on my MacBook.
