Who saw this coming... :)

I guess they don't want to hit his wallet or Rick's during these hard economic times.

Or..... Maybe they will start letting this sport show some emotion again? It's a little funny that we'll have people complain that they don't let the drivers show emotions and at the same time we have many more that will be asking for a fine/penalty when something like this happens.

You said it. As long as this excludes Kyle Bush, right? :Smiley_wink:
I think the problem is consistancy with handing out fines. Either do it or don't. Kyle (and Carl?) got hit with one for almost the exact same thing last year and people where in an uproar over what he did.
When its JR its all about emotion.
I like him but quite frankly I'm sick of the HUGE double standard with him and every other driver out there.

No surprise there.

I guess NASCAR thinks that each driver's lack of talent is punishment enough.

It doesn't bother me to see him get penalized or not. I just want some darn consistency. Granted it can't be a free for all without some consequences but just don't give one guy a penalty and then not someone else.

Kyle and Edwards got probation at Bristol last year...so, in my mind, probation this time too.

Lets just wait and see what excuses Nascar has for penalizing the next driver to do this...LOL!

Bingo! "It's a judgment call". I don't think Jr. Nation can say that it's just "haters" that notice this anymore. Not when there are specific examples that can be given.

Does anyone think that there is a possibility of a Dale Jr popularity backlash?

Yup and its unfourtnate because its not really of his doing all the breaks he's given. He seems like a real down to earth guy who got thrown into the spotlight when his Dad died.
It's almost like a Jr Nation backlash rather than Dale Jr backlash.

But what them and Nascar will say...."that was last year, this is this year":blah:

No kidding. Who's the probation officer? Buddy Baker?...:right:

It's nothing unless they do something stupid again during the length of the probation...:)

Has anyone in say the last 5 yrs who's been on probation actually been penalized further if they did something during that time? Because I can't recall it happening.

Wasn't a crew chief on probation one time and then suspended until Dec 31th?...

I don't think a driver has ever violated their probation...:)
