Joan Rivers....Always reliable

I recently let go about the show sucking it hard because of Beth O(no) Stern's influence. So I figured I would point out something positive.

I thought Joan Rivers made a really great appearance on the show. I just heard Artie's comments on her (including her tunnel vision and refusing to give props to a female comic) and he is entitled to his opinion but she is always a reliable laugh and never holds back about what is going on in the world (Ok, she kisses the British royals' asses but Howard and Robin put her in her place for that). Consistently good quest. Sort of related to Joan, remember right after Artie attacked Teddy? On the Wrap Up Show Gary said something about to the effect of that Artie might be unstable enough to hit Joan Rivers if she said "Shut up fat ass!". Artie was insulted yet....it might happen.

Heh. But, that aside, she isn't a BAD guest, but she gets boring, she is in so often, (it seems) that I get bored with her quickly.

i couldn't disagree more. I think she sucks everytime. I didn't bother this time, i just FFWD right through her. Gotta love the broad range of opinions on here :rofl:

I'm not a fan of her appearances. I won't change the channel if I'm at work because I can't be bothered but it's not what I'd call a riveting interview.

IMHO, it's been years since Joan has had an interesting appearance on the show. The last few interviews have been almost word for word the same (God Joan you look great, what's the royal family like, etc). When Gary said on the Wrap-up show that they usually have Joan on 3 times a year, I was thinking "why not cut her back to once a year and use the other two slots for somebody that hasn't been on the show yet".

Artie defended his NAP (2 hours) by saying he NEVER talks during her visits. He said Joan Rivers is a "mean bitch" and that she doesn't pay any attention to him. Joan only looks at Howard and Robin, per Artie.

I don't doubt that he hates her. I think it was a convenient excuse to take a heroin nap (although I guess the heroin is implied during his naps). I mean, he obviously does make a real attempt to avoid the Mike Walker thing which sucks because the only time those things are any good is because Artie starts to rag on Walker.
