I think its ridiculous. It makes this sport look like any joe slob can get in there and do it. Like whats the point of having a roided up Carl Edwards on the cover of muscle mags promoting how athletic these drivers are, when you have a 74 year old man drive in the sports biggest race.

I like the fact that anyone can show up with a car and if they're fast enough they can race.

I think it would be funny as hell for the roided up monster(and yes the rest of them too) to get his ass handed to him by the ol man!

So the guy is a little old. Who could have a problem with that? I mean, they still let Mark Martin race, don't they?

Mark Martin is not that old. Plus he could kick all of those youngin's butts any day of the week.

Don't you think it gets to a age where NASCAR says "no" to someone of that age? With how hot the inside of the car gets don't you think it can be dangerous to someone of that age.

He already passed the physical, let him race if he wants to. There are many "elderly" people on the road everyday that SHOULDNT be. And they dont even have to pass a physical, go figure!

It's called sarcasm! Please don't get all upset. Who doesn't like Mark Martin? You do have to admit that the guy does look old for his age. :yesshake:

Wow, it's that kind of bashing that drove many of us out of the Sirius Backstage Forum.

For the record, James Hylton is no "Joe Slob." Take a minute and check his resume in the sport, and you'll find that he's more than qualified. He has been quite competitive in ARCA competition the last few years, and was a caution flag away from qualifyiing for the 2006 Daytona 500, at age 72.

And the "roid" comments have no place here, IMO. Unless of course, Dexter has even a tiny shred of proof that Carl Edwards actually takes steroids, which I seriously doubt.

Your right, I referred to him as the roided monster and I dont know that he does anything like that. Its easy to get caught up in stuff on here. My bad.
