Issues with the Howard Stern Forum

The Decline of the HS Forum on DRC:

It is boring to have threads jacked off topic.

There are certain posters here who like to engage in page after page of back and forth fighting; attempts at clever one-upmanship; or insistence on getting in the last word. The internet equivalent of beer muscles.

However many more people registered for this site to discuss the Howard Stern Show, not participate in - or have to wade through - off-topic posts. I generally enjoy this forum, but in my opinion, it has been overrun with attitude.

I don't care who started it; I don't give a fuck if you have a good zinger; and I certainly don't want to click through page after page of that shit just to get back to the theme of the original poster - which, thank you very much, is by now moot because everyone has given up on the thread.

Should this forum be a free-for-all? Will anyone choose civility over anarchy? Is this forum for everybody, or just the loudest voices?

It would be nice to have threads which stay on topic, otherwise I fear this forum will continue to shrink and be left with half a dozen posters all trying to out-wit each other.

It bothers me as well but now that NASCAR has started I'm in that forum more often and I just don't bother to replying to most trolls on here. Of course there are people on here that just because I disagree with you doesn't make you a troll. It just means your wrong. :nana:

This and SBS were the only Howard forums I ever registered at. I'm wary of SFN and others like it. This forum has the right amount of people where I pretty much know where everyone is coming from. I like most of the people on here, but I definitely agree that the "jacking off" needs to stop.

I disagree with the OP. If anything there often seems to be more self-censorship by some posters here lately...I miss the free-spiritedness of the old SBS Stern forum. That was just fine, thank you. Some people seem to have forgotten that there's a difference between being cruel and just having some fun in the spirit of the show,

WGAS a shit if a thread might happen to go a bit off topic or if there's occasionally a bit of teasing or if someone posts they don't like something in a thread that the other posters do like. This is after all a forum for the Stern Show...if I want everything 100% on topic all the time and no goofing I'll go to the New York Radio Message Board. Lately it seems people are walking on eggshells around here which is neither fun nor funny.

I have to agree with you. Seems like your only allowed agree with certain people, any disagreement gets your wrist slapped.

Not fun or funny for that matter.
