I did not hear her on there at all yesterday, and in the bit I listened today, I haven't heard her either. I know a lot of people don't like her, but I do. She is funny at times, and I love a "nasty" girl like her who just says whatever she feels like.

On her MySpace blog, she claimed that she had a little "nip/tuck" and will be back on the air Monday.

Madison called into the Jay Thomas Show yesterday and said she had her chin and nose done, mole removed, etc. She said she looks like Eric Stoltz from Mask.

Oh, okay. When you said "nip/tuck", and knowing the kind of gal Madison is, I immediately thought "breast enhancement":D

But anyway, it's nice to hear she'll be back as I enjoy her even if others find her annoying.

If you've ever heard her on Jay Thomas she repeatedly let's everyone know she has great tits, to the dismay of the audience.

I'm resurrecting this thread, because I want to talk about Alt Nation. And I thought it would be interesting to note that in 2021, Madison - who was annoying the shit out of listeners in 2008 - is still annoying them in 2021. Nothing ever changes in SiriusXM world.

But what I really want to say, is that it appears I'm no longer an Alt Nation kind of guy. For a while, I stopped listening to new music, because of the lack of a commute. But recently, I've been making a point of checking out new music on XMU, which I used to listen to on my commutes. It sounds about like what I remember.

But then I thought about how I'd split my time between XMU and Alt Nation. So for a week, I've been listening to Alt Nation. There used to be a big overlap between the 2 channels; maybe a third of the artists got played on both. But now, there's no overlap. Alt Nation is all teen Emo music. It's all bands with names that are made of misspelled words - mostly missing letters. And they still play Vance Joy!!! I mean, holy fuck! Who thinks that Vance Joy is alternative?

I discovered Muse and Tame Impala through Alt Nation, many years ago. Doesn't seem like that's gonna happen anymore.

I wasn't super impressed with Alt Nation as a subscriber, I liked the Spectrum a lot, reminded me of what KFOG out of San Francisco would sound like If it didn't get switched to Sportball talk. XMU was good for discovery as well. First wave and Lithium were repetitive as all hell.

Honestly, you could do away with probably 90% of the DJ's on SiriusXM & I wouldn't mind. If I wanna know what something is, I can look at the friggin' display.

I like Spectrum too, it's the closest thing to Adult Contemporary radio. On the new stuff, they play the shit out of it for a month, then move onto the next one.

XMU has by far the least annoying, most useful DJs. Which is important, because they're constantly introducing new stuff. On most other channels, they're basically paid to tell a random, unnecessary story after every other song.

The DJs often start telling a story about the next song they're gonna play. But you don't know that yet, so it's just 30 seconds of "what?". Annoying.

This is from my Android Auto display this morning.

This is another trend I've noticed: collaborations of 3 or more artists. WTF is up with that? I'm seeing it a lot now on Alt Nation. It's like at the end of the RRHOF, when all the musicians from all the bands come on stage together, to totally massacre some song. Now they're doing it on purpose?

I think its all a marketing ploy from their record labels. 2 or 3 times the audience with no commitment to tour. They are saving their own material till after covid so they can release albums to tour behind.
